It is a textile (Carbolex) to Mesh convertible so it is essentially a four season jacket. CE Level A protectors. Well stitched with good finish with lots of reflective piping. Conversion of Textile to Mesh on You Tube : |

Hey Guys. I have a question about this too. I have budget of around 6K so I have four(or may be three) brands in my options.
1.Alpinestars - very good quality. Available at local showroom at 8K. Will have to stretch budget by 2k ![]() 2.DSG Phoenix - Available online. Cost- 5.5K. Quality should be good. I'm worried about which size is of my fit if I order this one. I tried L size at local showroom but it was short. I could't even close the zipper. So I'm wondering which size will fit me. I'm exactly six feet (no more no less ) athletic built. my weight is around 85-87KG (no big tummy... yet ). I think XL will fit me but not sure . Please help me out on this one.3.Cramster - Looks okay. But I dont like it much. 4.At the local showroom some jackets are there for 5.5 k with yamaha brand on it. Quality looks good. Comes with inner lining too. Problem is that it is available in blue (I have a red P200... dont wanna look like Govinda ) and I'm unsure if Yamaha makes jackets too ![]() I will be using the jacket for touring/long commutes. How much can a mesh jacket last with good care (even if I use it daily)? Please help me out with my options.

Hey Ya! the middle class factors does count on most of us.. but its our efforts for our love of riding that make it possible..
A store-keeper in andheri once told me that most of branded stuff (almost 99%) available in any stores in mumbai are chinese 99% duplicates.. he also showed me DSG and alpinestars which were too good to be believed as replicas.. atleast for first time buyers.. this is what the store owner himself told me.. and i guess they would have reached other cities too.. So i wont suggest buying from any ordinary showroom or without someone who uses it.. I think getting Online is best.. I m no brand user.. I got myself a good custom leather jacket and use wearable armour.. that gives me all the freedom.. Can use only the armour on T-shirt if too hot.. and also can flaunt the leather jacket on other ocassions.. There is no other better place then dharavi, to buy a leather jacket in mumbai.. however had seen some cool jackets in pahadganj, delhi once when i was there.. and u can always custom it.. |

Dear Kartik, remember that a waterproof textile will be extremely hot to wear for most of the year in weather found anywhere except on hill stations. Even the initial heat wave of march this year had me sweating in the mesh jacket and when we hit 41.6 degrees in Mumbai last week I had packed in Gel Ice packs between the mesh and textile layers to cool off at mid noon on a 2 hour outing. Please be practical when you buy something. The waterproof venting on textile jackets passes very little air and works very well at 40 degress Fahrenheit but cooks at 40 degrees centigrade. So please read the user reviews of products before you buy. Just my two cents. |

I'm in search of a riding jacket. Water proofing is an important concern? Should I go for a regular rain guard + Torso Armour (http://www.cramster.in/motorsport.php)? Or should I go for Cramster Breezer4.0 jacket?
My place(kerala) is hot, humid and rainy(heavy rain for months). And I go for long/short trips. When I'm not riding I want to keep it in a back pack. These are my concerns. Expecting your valuable suggestions.

I want you to look at - DSG Nero - It might be bit heavy and kinda get hot in here but an excellent stuff for the rains. RJays Ocatane with the Rain liner - Its a mesh jacket but has rain liner which ensures you are dry. Cramster - Its a good option but rain qualities I doubt that... But these are light weighted so helps in carrying around. Now you make the choice buddy .

Unfortunately, I cannot stretch my budget beyound cramsters.
Also, they have a dealer in my town. I need to select either Torso Armour or Breezer Jacket. The advantage of Torso Armour is that it has got much more armours than the jacket (Lower back, chest and ribcage). If Torso Armour is convenient to use (wear and carry along in a back pack) it's the best value for money. Wearing a rain coat (Rs500) over it will do the job perfectly. My concern is that, suppose if I visit a hill station(say Ooty) I may need to walk some distance to get somewhere or other. In those kind of situation I should be able to put it in the back pack.By the way, has any body tried this http://www.ebay.in/itm/FOX-Body-Armo...item27c3065ea4
