  • P220 Engine Heats up!!!

    Hi Guys,
I feel my P220's Engine heats up quickly, while coming from a short ride say 4-5 kms, while parking my bike back to my home i get Strange burning smell from engine side.
If anyone can explain me about this strange engine heating please guide me. Even while raining at the time of parking due to cold water dripping on Engine i see white fumes coming out, like when u pour water on really hot metal.

I'm Confused what is the main issue?? whether Engine oil or some engine problem??

all things you mentioned are quite normal and happens on every Pulsar and every bike...more on bajaj because Bajaj engines generally produce more heat. All all those things are normal....

Check the Idling Rpm.....lower it to 1.2-1.5k rpm.

Get your bike serviced.. 3rd service is due

On a more serious note.. check engine oil level.. we wont want engine damage to the bike due to low oil level which also causes over-heating. I dont think your idle rpm would be > 1.5k . Anyways that will contribute very little to the

When exactly did the problem start.. or was it always this hot?

Hey mostly the problem is of idling(dont know the spelling)
even i had a problem of the engine heating up in my pulsar
if idling RPM is a problem check if during neutral or when you are pressing the clutch the RPM shoots up(ex. it goes to something like 3-4 or even more)
in that case theres a coil near the carb to adjust it
i would advise to go to someone who knows to adjust it before you do it on your own as you may end up touching something else

cant trust these mechanics from my place yaar kalyan....they just know basic things...
To fix my bike's mirror (which became loose),evryone said "apan se nahi hoga","bajaj wale ke paas jao",
Thn some old uncle helped me out fixing the mirror and he said
"aaj kal ke bacche thoda bhi dimaak nahi lagate"

                          He guys,
My P220's Engine heating problem is solved. Yesterday i washed my bike, due to rains lot of muck got accumulated on the Engine.
I guess my engine wasn't able to breathe properly and used to release fumes. I also lubricated my chain with SAE 90 gear oil...Now i feel my bike is smooth..the same feeling which one get while riding the bike just after servicing.
I feel PBK guys do the same while servicing
                          ,wash-->oil-->DONE bike serviced!!!
