    12v Cigarette Lighter adapter

    I recently installed a 12v Cigarette Lighter adapter to my R15 and Its charging my phone perfectly but the problem is it takes hours to charge the phone. Is there anyway I can speed up the charging process, last time I checked I started charing when there were 2 bars being displayed on the phone and it took 45 mins to get 3 bars..

    I've attached a 2 amp fuse and a switch and powering it through the battery +/- terminals.
    Patience is something you admire in the driver behind you and scorn in the one ahead.

      that is normal

      motorcycle battery doesn't have enough power to quick charge your phone, so be content with it. never charge the phone without first starting the engine.

      make sure you use a genuine charger or else the mobile battery may be spoilt.

        What charger have you used? The battery should not have any issue.

          Your mobile charger may be at fault and not your bikes battery. Is the mobile charger branded, that came with the mobile or is it a 3rd party charger?

            It seems he used the USB type cable charger that comes fitted with cigarette lighter attachment, you have to plug the ligher attachment into the cigarette lighter adapter and from it there will be 4 , 6 or 10 wires comming to charge different types of phones. like this eBay India: Universal Car 12V DC Power Adapter Adaptor Charger 6PIN (item 160519359998 end time 21-Dec-2010 17:32:15 IST)


            you should use the bike charger only for emergency and not for normal use, because a bikes battery is not intended to charge mobile phone batteries it takes about 2 hrs to charge my nokia phone at HOME on 240 Volts
