  • FZS RPM problem

My bike is yamaha FZS. it's now running 8600 km. i adjusted the tapit valve by mechanic when it was 8100km, after that i have facing some problem. such as when bike is cold, first time engine start but RPM goes down and engine stop. when i pull the choke fully then the rmp hold still above 1500, after some times when engine is warm and i release the choke, then the rpm is normal.... i have done the same step every time to getting the bike in normal position whenever its morning or evening.... please help me about this

See, understand some facts about Carburetted bikes like FZ16:

      1. Cold Weather Start and then switching off back, is a somewhat normal indication. You can adjust idle rpm for it as given below,

      2. Also, RPM raising itself after running it for 5 kms or so, or giving choke, is also perfectly normal. Heated engine always raises rpm...

Run the vehicle for 3-4 kms in moderate-hot climate, then twist the below screw on your FZ-S to adjust idle rpm, make it 1500 rpm:

Keep vehicle running idle in neutral on main stand, adjust it until it shows 1500 rpm on tachometer without any throttle. After adjusting it, let me know if you have any more problems.

As far as I comprehend, Tappet problems result in engine sound change, like bells ringing at high rpm or so, but nothing specifically related to idle rpm and switching off.
