Hi All,
I need to know how to convert my bike to a auto start one, as it is a manual one(Kick start). it is a Bajaj Discover 125cc (2006 model) i wll put the picture of that in near future. i need to modify the speedometer to electronic one too. so i need some tips on that like where the all parts will be available and how much it will cost to me. as i am staying in a small town in orissa, so it is very difficult to get that parts here.

The Older Models of Discover125 had two versions, With and without electric starter. I think you'd need to check with a showroom/mechanic for the spares and fit it. But IIRC, I had read a review by Dilip Bam in which he stated that both the versions had different powered headlamps and stuff, so I am assuming that they might have a different electrical setup. So, please check that before you go ahead with fitting the starter motor.

I wanted to put self start for my old Splendor and when I asked a known mechanic, he said it would be too expensive and hectic. When I asked how much, he said around 10k. After that, I didn't ask him any further details as to how to do it.

@ Bikerx
This can be done with the help of the following:- You'll need a new fly wheel behind the magnet to let the motor rotate the crank. A step down gear. a one way bearing. a starter motor. you'll also need to get a hole drilled inside the rear part of the magnet case to let the starter motor's shaft pass in. a minimum 5 amp battery. RH side of the switched needs to be changed. A new wiring swap. normally every bike which has an option of kick as well as electric start already has the provision made to let the electric start parts fit in. I've converted my bike to electric start too. Its not a difficult job, all you need is to find a precise lathe guy and find all the needed parts referring to the service manual, but its expensive to get all these things done.
