    Default Pulsar 180 ug4 seek for help few problems exist and upgrades needed

    Hello guys,

    Myself Brijmohan Patnaik from Sambalpur, Orissa owning a Bajaj Pulsar 180 ug4 and seeking your help need solution for my few problems and also some upgrade's.

    First of all my bike is vibrating not much but feels sick after 60kmph.
    The engine gets so heated if i drove above 30km's then i feel like flames, hot wind flips off my foot when i wear slippers:P
    so is that normal or need some work?

    2. I noticed my engine oil was completely black like burnt but it was ridden around like 1000kms only. I input Castrol which cost 319 which is now 340 here in Sambalpur.
    So which engine oil is best for my bike? And its MRP?

    3. I have faced second problem yesterday when i use to start the bike, pressing the self and sound was coming like tok-tok. I showed to my trusted mechanic who dectected the carbon was over inside the self. All needed is a carbon and soldering. But this happened 12days back also. Do i need to change the self? I hope it wont happen again but if it does what should i do? The self noise was like good after the makeup but day by day some spark tin hit type noises comes. Please guide

    4. About K&N filter, i have heard much about this. Does it change the pulsy sound? And what is the cost?

    5. My visor is shaking like dancing in disco. Side of the speedometer two nutbolts are not able to fit. Some internal part broken. Instead of repairing,welding whatever i just want to upgrade it to pulsar 220 projected headlamps. Heard from the bajaj guy that it will be fitted from the front chasis. How much would it cost me? Do anyone have to sell? if its in perfect condition working i will take it for sure because visor is very imp.to me
    Here bajaj people aint working good, eating lots of money from customers.

    6. My chain is lubricated with the burnt engine oil which is drained below the engine. My friend told me to stop that instead use some lubricate oil for chain. Please guide me that also and its price.

    First of all, stop wearing chappals while riding a motorcycle. It is too big a risk.
    Secondly, please mention the odometer reading and month+year of purchase of the bike so we can help you better.
    Advice is a form of nostalgia.
    Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

    The issues seems to be the OIL. What Castrol Oil are you using? Try, change the oil, and make sure its either 15W50 or 20W50 rate Oil. I guess the current oil you are using is a Castrol 20W40 oil. My suggest look for Motul 3100 15W50.

    Just get carbon removed from starter relay, spray some WD40 and it should be fine!

    Cost is about 2000 bucks. But you just want to install a K&N for sound? Not recommended. You can try cutting the air filter snorkel, if you find that sound better.

    This mod can be done, but your bike will still shake and vibrate, and even more so. Somebody who has done it will be in a better position to answer this.

    Yes, stop that immediately. If you find the chain spray to be a costly option, just buy Castrol SAE90 Gear oil and put it on chain. Never put used engine oil!

    1.I have the same issue with my pulsar and still looking for a solution, in my case even short sides as low as 5kms makes it super hot.

    2.Its obvious as the engine is running
    at high temperature and the oil works overtime to cool it hence reduced life.

    4.If you are talking about KN filters made for pulsars then it won't change the sound. But it helps to breath better than stock and builds the revs faster.

    5.For headlamp assembly shaking issue, you have to tighten the nuts inside the assembly. The screws placed both the sides just won't hold it steady. Get it to any local mechanic, he will do it in 10 minutes. Nothing broken it just needs tightening a little bit.

    6.Get gear oil or 2T oil for lubricating chains. Used or burnt oil won't have that much thickness left and won't provide efficient lubrication.

    chain lubrication SAE90 oil.

    engine running hot- A/F mixture too lean.

    no power after 60 and oil burning out too quickly-will tell after odometer reading is posted here.

    plzz don't BREAK, ... just BRAKE, coz your bike have brakes and not breaks, so practice braking and not breaking...
