    Default Matte Black Paint Protection.

    Hey Guys , Greeting !!!!

Hope you guys are doing good. I am new to this forum, however not new to riding .
I have a question, if you guys could please help me out with.

I have a Pulsar 150 cc 2004 model which I rode for last ten years and trust me she is still beautiful and give me good and smooth riding through the city.
However she is not that stable in highways especially when i hit 70+ kmph , And its time for a new friend for highway rides.
However I am not planning to leave my old bird though. Planning to keep her for city commute and the New one for Highway.
And now since I have the budget, I am planning to go for a new One. Yes, I am going for the new Thundirbird.
I have finalised the model as well. TB5. Also I am aware of the pros and cons of the bike.

Now the the model and make is decided, I have one more thing left with me to decide, yes the Color.
The color schemes available for TB is Marine, Lightninig and Matte black. I want to go for the Matte Black.
The problem is with the maintenance of the color, I searched over the internet and other forums for what we can do for the protection of the color.
But was not able to find a satisfactory answer on how we can protect the matte black color.

Yes, we have to wash it with only plain water and should use clean cloth or any good absorbant cloth to clean it.
However, the question is still in my mind is that, Is this the only thing what we can do for the color protection.
I also heard about the 3M paint protection, but it will be a glossy finish and it wont look good on matte black color.

Any suggestions and discussions are welcome, Pleae let me know your thoughts.

    Thanks
    Peeths

    Hi All,

I saw the below link in team-bhp.com about some kind of paint protection for Matte black. However not much details are there as what exactly was done. Any one here has an idea on this.

Please let me know your thoughts

    >> Greetings,

I was also thinking for a same color as like a most and but worried about its maintenance. I have check with 3M but they convey me that they only deal with cars and may polish a bike on special request and may provide a film cote but I am not sure it will be good solution or not. actually it will make it glossy then the purpose of having matte may dissolve..

how ever, I have come across a user manual and as suggested they are advising to take special care and there is no warranty, which was a big worry now.

Following link explain some more concept of it and clear my dobuts that we have to only deal with non wax sealants..

after thinking for some time and consulting with friend I think lightning color will be better option for longer run as durability.

    happy miles ahead...

    Hi guys

I have just got myself a matte grey apache rtr200. I would like to know how to take care of the matte paint (since my understanding to date is that you cant polish or wax it).
I have checked threads here and in the other bhp forum and I am not able to find any relevant advice for Indian context.

Moreover, the products I am looking to purchase Matter paint safe shampoo and sealant are either not widely available or are too costly. Can someone provide steps on how to take care of a matte painted bike and which products to use and where can I get the same.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Hi friends... Myself Shashank... I bought a new Apache rtr 200 4v 3 months ago... But now I'm having a problem with the paint of bike... It's a matte red and the paints are starting to chip off... Nearly 4 places, the paints have started to chip off... It's like small small dots of paint coming out of bike... Company people say they can't claim as it's due to rubbing of our clothes while riding which I'm not happy with their reply... So wat can I do to solve this problem??? Please give me some suggestions to what I can do to get the paint things of my bike, and please suggest me a good matte paint protection so that I can atleast safeguard the other part of paint schemes...
