    Default DIY on fitting phone charger to self start buttons instead of battery on ktm duke 390

    October 2016-while mounting USB charger to a battery is very easy and swift, what concerns me is the lack of ability to switch it off, it has happened to me once that I had left the bike in the rain and the battery drained itself out.

    march 2017-today I came across a ktm duke 390 where the rider had connected the charger to his right lever since he had bought it pre-owned he had no idea how it was fixed, my guess is it was fixed to the self-start as brake lever has nothing electric(or maybe abs does have something)



    so my question is how to fit my phone charger without attaching it to the battery directly, any advice, DIY links, videos would be helpful.I have been trying to look up google without much success.


    p.s-please don't suggest me a switch on-off mechanism as I have already purchased the charger

    Simply connect the Negative lead(Black) to any of the metal bolt near the battery(or to the Negative terminal of battery) and connect the positive lead(Red) in to fuse box with any of the fuse's (eg.horn fuse) out put side .

    This will make the USB charger active when the ignition is ON and adds extra fuse protection ( Make sure to connect it to the out put side of the fuse terminal)

    hey sree bro do you know what is the difference between the wiring harness of UG2 & UG5 of p150???....
    and are the W.H. is same in p135( model no.) & p150 ug 5???

    actually i am fed up with the bcu,, so one of our fellow member as well as the bajaj S.C. mech. suggested me to upgrade but what to know more about it. do ypu know anything,,



    and are the ug5 w.h. magnetic(😠😠😠😠local mech. told me,, he is the main culprits of all this drama and last but not the least ****ing rats🐀🐀🐀 ,, caused me to spent ₹6000 on damn ****ing wiringand all),,,


    and btw due to any reason (specially because of 🐀🐀🐀🐀😬😬😬😬&#128556 get damage in future do i have to change the whole wiring or
    can it be repaired ???

    1. You may use the UG5 wiring harness with UG3 ( some connector's location may be different but the mechanic can solve it)

    2. Check the RR(Regulator and Rectifier)unit of the bike ,If RR unit fails the electrical systems will not function properly.

    3. I am not sure about matching of magnetic coil of UG5 and UG3 , If the magneto is damaged you may re-wind your existing magneto by giving it to a auto electrician.

    4. Wiring harness issues can be sorted out by identifying and reconnecting the damaged/cut wires, fixing the damaged wiring harness is not recommended since it may create issues later due to water seepage.

    in ug 5,,, all the part are same,, magnet coil, digital meter, RR except the non contactable switches and wiring ,, which will cost me around 2.5 to 3k.....

    bro i have change
    in one month following parts
    BCU (2 time)
    magnet coil
    RR
    CDI
    switches LH &RH both

    actually,, there was a problem in self start,,but while having look on self, he found that all the the meter wire are damged by 🐀🐀🐀,, 🙏🙏🙏🙏.... don't know he does as i was not there at the moment,, bcu ki lag gayi,, with that the d.meter too stop as its the mind of the bike.....
    so i did following changes,,, but still my self was not work,, he told me to get it done at reputed s.c...... but i dont as it was running,, just the meter and self was not working one day i was driving at 50kmph,, may be.. (by the way i have got my engine work done too).

    there i check the current was lost,, i gave the bike at bajaj s.c which 8 km from there,,😰😰😰😰😰😵😵😵😵😵... he found that rr is not working as well as the battery got drain,,i got it charged and there mech.. was about to put both the wire fitted the bcu 💨💨💨💨💥💥💥💥fussss... 😬😬😬😬😬i took my bike from there showed to the local mech. he found that the magnet coil two point (+&- ) attached( dont know the f*ck it happened ) as it was new.... anyway,, he correct that and suggest me not to ride for long route.. and he like to downgrade it for 3700 +++ he want all the part of my bike what ever replaced.. money sucker ....😬😬😬😠😠😠😠 and now i want all the information as much as i can about it,, as now i dont want to waste my money,, and wont go go to him..
