Default Insurance for 2003 model Pulsar

    Hi all,

I need to renew my 2003 Pulsar 180 bike insurance which is expiring in April. Last year it was renewed but I have no idea how it was done as it was given to some other person to do. But this year I need to do it but am not able to figure out how?
None of the online websites give an option for more than 10 years old registration dates.

Can someone guide me about what to do in this case.

    Regards,

You will have to do it offline. Visit the insurance offices in your vicinity and bargain the best estimate. It is a rather traditional way of doing things.

Take a Xerox copy of your bike RC & along with the bike, visit any GENERAL INSURANCE office. You can go for LIABILITY POLICY (also called 3rd party policy) ₹ 770.00 (driver only) or & 850.00(driver +pillion).
Please NEVER agree to pay anything EXTRA above these prices.

Bro myself working in general insurance. Since your bike is 14 years old, kindly take liability policy alone. If the policy is expired you have to take the bike and will be inspected and insurance cover will be given from next day onwards after payment of premium. Kindly check for long term tp policy also( 3 years )

    Regards,
In case of expired insurance policy, vehicle will have to be inspected.

Which in these days means, they will click photographs of your bike, will take pictures and/or trace of the engine and chassis numbers and then issue you a policy.

Insurance agents wont mind coming to your doorstep and getting your policy renewed or for a faster process call your nearest General insurance agency and visit them with the RC Book and you bike and everything will be done on the same day (most times, most agencies)

The mount of insurance you pay will also depend upon what you want out of the insurance. If you want to renew it only so it would comply with the rules then go for third party only insurance.

If you want to protect your bike from theft and loss, then go for full cover (which still be less for an older vehicle with very less margin to increase the IDV amount)

Whatever you chose, make it fast because come April, Third party amount will be increasing so I would suggest you get your policy done this month itself.
