Just see if the sound is emanating from the disc assembly.Originally posted by Richard View Postrecently my bike has generated a very hight pitch hiss which is only heard at higher rev's 3500 upwards...its very very irrtating...what couLd be the cause?

If the source is indeed from the front disc, then the brake is binding and hence the noise...I'm normally not a praying man, but if you're up there, please save me Superman.

@need4torque - it comes even in neutral..if you rev the bike upto 4k...the sound is like the sound you get from a tube light...
i am trying to do most of the stuff on my bike myself kindof like a personal restoration project...need a new bike but there are way too many memories attached to this v1..so no plans in selling it anytime soon..
@MavericK46 - it can even be heard when the bike is stationary

Looks like some fastener somewhere is loose. I had similar issues on my V1 and after quite a bit of investigation, realised it was coming from a screw in the helmet lock
Mechanically, it could be a few things, hard to easily identify it. Try to get the tappets adjusted, that could be an easy solution.
And I know how difficult it is to get rid of a V1. It's a one of a kind Pulsar in the 180cc's. I will never get rid of it myself
