  • RTR: 7K to 8K power missing !

    Hi,

    I own RTR'07 Model
    Total Kms 18,567.

2 weeks back my RTR was loosing power drastically between 5K - 6.5K RPM range. It was like some one was holding my bike from behind.

I had reported the problem to SVC guys they changed the clutch plate.

Now the power stable as earlier all upto 7.5K RPM range and after that it takes little time then earlier to move.

NOTE: I have given my bike for 7th Service and they have decarbonoized my piston head and did padding for Valves and wall as mentioned in Manual book.
After this, when ever I kick start I have to give more pressure..then earlier, the same way when you get your new bike the kickstart is hard !

Do i have to do run in to set my piston rings again or might be this is the problem it is taking time between 7.5K past RPM range ?

    Please help

      Hi Joy,
The reason your kick is hard now is probably because of an increase in compression ratio, which is because of well seated valves. I dont think you should worry about that.
Regarding pickup, why dont you check if your air filter is clean, spark plug gap and maybe your Ignition for the right advance and see if all is well there. These may be the cause of your problems.

          Hey,
Also get your Carburetor cleaner properly. At times when the Main Jet comes into play the clogged up Jet doesn't allows fuel to pass properly this make the ride jerky and even feels like loss of power.
I RTR FI doesn't have Carburetor, however, if your bike is not FI, then don't forget about the Carburetor.

The FI engines are amazing, they have great power and nice mileage. I desire Apache RTR FI, its surely an all rounder on Indian road.

What was the cost for this job?

              Hi,

The total service bill was around 1300 RS.
They changed Gasket kit as well.
