  • Speed slow in CBZ*

I have a Hero Honda CBZ*(2006).The bike speed recently seems to have slowed down.Any possible solutions?Does using a chain spocket of Hero Honda CD 100 SS in CBZ help increase speed?

10s of reasons for a slow bike, First elaborate in detail what kind of problem you are having if expect any kind of helpful answer.

It can be weak magnet, brunt plates, weak piston or rings, chocked carb, chocked filter and so on.

Thanks Kunjal and Shubhanker.Let me tell you that my bike is in perfect condition as per the mechanic. The clutch plates are new and i take it for servicing at regular intervals.I have riden it for 25000 km.Touch wood; it looks brand new..No mods yet.Speed is the only ccompalint so far.To elaaborate the bike takes up speed slowly once it touches the 60kmph maark.Last day i revd on the highway and it hit 60 in 5secs.the prob is after this.

Your bike should reach 80 without probs. Try getting the timing chain and sprockets changed if not done already. A clean carb helps too.

Top speed was never CBZ's best feature; it was the instant acceleration. I have touched 110 on my speedo after a lot of time above 100, so don't expect much in terms of top speed.

If you are able to get good acceleration which you mentioned, the Spark Plug won't be the problem, however, I would still suggest cleaning it and verifying the gap.

You should consider carburetor cleanup where in the Main Jet and the Pilot Jets are cleaned properly.

This should suffice as I believe a 25000kms these machines are not meant to develop any major problem, still, if it pertains, you should get it checked by a well trained mechanic only at the authorized service center.

Do you feel any vibrations from the bike?

try getting the tappet adjustment of the engine head right coz valve timings play a major role in shifting the power up or down the rev range..also as has been pointed out,cbz was always for acceleration and dats why the rear sprocket has a large no of teeth and front lesser.u might put in the xtreme's sprocket if u want more top speed, wud bring in a lot of difference or the unicorn's if the fitment becomes a problem..since ur bike is stock, chocked air filter plays a real spoil sport..u can't really trust the service center guys and blame ur beast..start taking care of ur bike personally and she wud communicate to you instantly regarding her problem..
