Default Future of superbikes in India: A survey

Hi guys,
I am doing a project on "Future of superbikes in India". I need your help in conducting a survey.
1) I need responses from superbike owners to determine their relation with their manufacturers and determine which is the best brand available in terms of aftersales.
2) responses from future owners to determine if there is demand for these beauties in our country..

and there is no other place to find superbike owners than XBHP

thanks in advance guys.. happy motoring.. wear a lid..

please fill the form in the link

hey Dude, the last two questions doesn't make sense..... there should be more options and it should have been in an order of desires in bike..... you just cant' pick a choice cause all those three options are important factors.....

i wanted to determine the ranks of parameters that people consider while buying bike.. unfortunately there is no ranking facility in google docs.. so i have mentioned which the "most" Preferred and the one that is "least" Preferred.
guys dont confuse yourself while answering the survey.

You defined a performance bike as one which reaches 250 kmph, with a 0-100 of below 4 seconds.
I severely disagree. Even a 600cc street bike reaching 200 kmph is a performance bike. I want to get a 600, because the litres are impractical tyre burners, and we don't need 180 bhp's. Yes, not even for racing. We all know how 600's lap faster on the Indian Racetracks.

Secondly, You heard of 4 marketing P's? Product, Place, Price, Promotion? The Superbikes sold in India are the WORST example of Marketing P's. Or the lack of it.

Product: Superbikes touching 180 bhp's are an un-needed product in India. Yes, racing included.
Place: Superbikes are sold and serviced in few cities only, around 20 something?
Price: Not many manufacturers decided to do something about the CBU Tax, even though they could have initiated a change, like Kawasaki/ Hyosung did.
Promotion: Hardly any adverts. Some people are not even aware that such things exist.

How do you then expect these products to succeed?? And then! Companies are happy selling just 100 or so units of a superbike...

Future of Superbikes? It lies in the past theories. Companies should focus and fill up the 4 marketing P's first.

Yes, superbikes, supersports and street 600's have a future, if they are priced close to the cars and well advertised and serviced.

I agree with you in certain aspects dude.. but i feel this was the view about superbikes till R1 was officially brought in by Yamaha india as a CBU.. now superbikes still remain as a luxury good (niche market)

secondly, the companies cannot do anything about the import taxes as the government is the only body that can alter it.. and for your info. Harley has started assembling some of its bikes and prices have come down a bit. if there is a potential for these bikes then the companies would set up shops here. if there is no market then the companies would never break even as cost of setting up a plant is huge.

As few years go by we will have a considerable number of superbikes in our street.

what say fellow xBHPians???
