I used the Simota air filter that Joel was offering. I am quite happy with its performance and have found it to be complementing the big bore, revised head and free flow exhaust.

The thing is haven't found a good mechanic here in chennai so i am not sure. Besides your write-up is detail enough to make me do it myself Also i wanted to ask you what was the free flow air filter that you used?

Thanks ... As you are planning for a big bore then to derive maximum benefit from the increase in cubic capacity, I would highly recommend that you also go for Joel's FFE. Both are purpose built and compliment each other. The performance is sublime and you will not regret the decision. Both are time tested and almost bullet proof if basic care it taken during installation. Therefore, if you are going to do the assembly at your end, I would recommend that the same be done by a good experienced mechanic.

hi just went through your R16 article and i must say that it is really impressive the way you have written. I am planning to put in the big bore kit on my FZS soon. Any tips or suggestions? I also want to get a FFE for the bike and mount it someunder under the seat. any suggestions on that ?
