The thing is haven't found a good mechanic here in chennai so i am not sure. Besides your write-up is detail enough to make me do it myself Also i wanted to ask you what was the free flow air filter that you used?

hi just went through your R16 article and i must say that it is really impressive the way you have written. I am planning to put in the big bore kit on my FZS soon. Any tips or suggestions? I also want to get a FFE for the bike and mount it someunder under the seat. any suggestions on that ?

That is a question that can be answered accurately only after a dyno comparison between stock and the new engine is done (still pending)...

As far as seat of the pants feeling is concerned... it is fast, much much more faster than the stock... every gear change makes the bike lunge forward and noticeably pushes you back.... I can't really answer the question of only EUC based change as in my bike the big bore and associated components were installed before the ECU...

    Couple of reasons:

First: During heavy breaking, after a few hard breaking instances, the break lever tends to start going spongy and you need to apply more and more effort to break.

Second: It is normally recommended that break lines should be replaced every 2 - 3 years.

For the first reason the steel braided lines offer better structural integrity and prevent the break fade phenomena.

For the second reason, the steel braided lines are supposedly for the life time of the bike.

btw, why the new brake lines.... (Complete noob there!)
Better lubrication? More efficient? Lighter or something?
