Thats good. 1500 should not be a problem. power 1 is semi synthetic i believe.May be i will stick with gulf 4t or shell vsx till 7-8 k km (both are semi) then will go for motul

I definitely want to try using synthetic oil, my third service is due on 23rd of this month. Changed oil on second service @4050 now its 5200. I have heard that running in of new engines goes till 10K mark so waiting for that mark, hope that within 5th service i can go for synthetic one. Is it advisable to go for semi-synthetic before synthetic. On what mark on ODO are you planning to change to fully synthetic?

Forgot to mention that I no longer hear that sound when raised the idle rpm, but the idle rpm is shooting up to 1500 after a long drive.

So that mileage part is pretty consistent for every GS. By ruthless you mean how much rpm, sometimes bike gives a good feel and I revv her between 5K and 7K got a mileage between 40 and 45. One thing I noted is that when the air is cool the performance is great but on very sunny condition engine gets harsh pretty soon. I think engine heating is one thing that suzuki need to improve on this bike.........

ya... it will definitely clear it. use choke or mild throttle while starting in the morning. then for the rest of the day 1300 is fine.

About the tak tak sound you mentioned in the GS forum, I too have noticed a tak-tak sound at mornings around 1000 rpm. Was it rectifed by increasing the idling rpm? At present my idling rpm is 1300.
