Yup! So true, and this "additional investment" is another deterrent, for me, atleast for the time being. First, you spend 900 odd dollars on getting the MP, then spend another fortune in getting some good flash and diffusers and what not, and THEN one also perhaps needs a tripod or something..

Decided the 100mm f2.8 macro lens would be enough, atleast for the time being. Let me just start by shooting some 1:1. 5:1 can wait for the time being.

Yup! I know - the financial/ stock market is going nuts, I tell you..

I, on the other hand cannot wait to get my hands on the macro lens; it's been a long dream to get my very own D-SLR, dedicated macro lens.. Enough of S3's non 1:1 macro; time for some "real" and "serious" macro stuff!

Most probably, by the end of this month; will be getting the 100mm macro instead of the MP-E 65mm both because of the availability and the price. Moreover, I can use the 100mm as a "normal" walk-around lens as well; the MP-E on the other hand is a pure, dedicated 1x-5x macro lens; perhaps, a little too much for me because I am just starting out with macro..

In time though the MP-E would surely be in my kitty..
