for 10k ummm, have you checked bikezone.com, quite a few ppl have good bikes in that price range. as far as i know, hero used to make a an alloy bike named hero thunder, it was a sweet bike, and for 7k you could get a 21 speed bike.
then there is the firefox target. hercules ACT. these are a couple of bikes i know in this price range. if you could go thru bikeszone you'll get a whole lot of ideas and options, m sure. the thing is i dont wanna guide you in a wrong way. in bikezone there are people who are using the above mentioned bikes, so you could get a first hand opinion about those bikes. i dont own any 10 k bikes , so if i suggest you one, it could be the wrong choice for you !
