btw... i had been to Kerala actually. and took a new route. amazing one man. a must ride. maybe sometime i will do it myself again and get a good cam too to click and share.
route is something like:
bangalore-mysore-bandipur-mudumalai-gudlur-nilambur
thats something like 6 lane highway till mysore, and then jungles, and then ghats, hillstation, again ghats, and you reach kerala. total kms: 330 !

kewl... frankly speaking, i hardly do anything to my bike. always run to the mech, even for an oil change. its something like your small kiddies got fever and you dont wanna self-diagnose! better a doc...

rides... nahi yaar. had been to my friends marriage. a register one and with lotza pungas. damn, lost all my money and time and a days leave for it. but yeah it was successful so...

oye... for the chain work why not take it to a mech? 5-10 minute ka kaam hai and would cost you bout 20rs.

why dont you post in some of ur bike and helm pics here too?
