Public proxies are not safe dude.people can sniff your traffic.You should not use even tor to check your mail and stuff.Just use it to get the file. no i do route my traffic through tor.And one more thing make sure you do not relay tarffic in tor.If you do
you can get into big trouble.

it is a public proxy am using...my source IP is hidden and the IP of the gateway ie proxy is recorded on WHAT MY IP site

You mean route the traffic through a proxy?.If yes your speed would be pathetic.And i for one would never trust a public proxy it could be owned by all kinds of people.
