A Quick Dash to Lum Symper!
Lum Symper Peak is a beautiful picnic spot located at a few kilometers from Weiloi (48 Kms from Shillong, the Capital town of Meghalaya), on the way to Mawsynram, in East Khasi Hills, Meghalaya. The place is famous as, according to folklore, once there existed a mud slinging in between the Lum Symper peak and Kyllang Rock. The dented slopes due to the mud slinging are still visible in the region.

It is also said that Lum Symper/Symper Peak gouged out the rocks from its side to throw at Kyllang rock which was retaliated with mud. Therefore, the caves on the side of Symper peak and no soil at all on Kyllang rock.

On a spur of the moment, me (on Pulsar 180) and Dark Angel (on Pulsar 150) decided to hit the road to Symper Peak on 11th July, 2009. We did not take into account the monsoon, therefore we got totally drenched. The ride was wonderful, though except for a couple of places where we had to really push the bikes to their limit. On one of those off-road track, we had to divert from the track as the mud was almost knee deep. We also had to dig a makeshift path for the bikes with the help of a sharp wooden pike.

Anyway, thats all for the moment! Enjoy the pics and do please leave your footprints behind. It may also be mentioned here that my cellphone hung up as it was also drenched in the rain, so the number of pics are not as much as I wanted and due to the rain and poor visibility (at times almost zero), we could not climb to the top of Symper Peak.
