RTR and R15 are not similar in anyway. The RTR is a screamer while the R15 does it ina much civilized way. The RTR starts running from the word-GO while the R15 has very little power available in the lower rpm. Most of it is concentrated between 6500 to 10000 rpm. R15 is better for touring but the seating takes a toll on u. The pillion seat is very uncomfortable. The RTR is short-geared and short stroked and feels a lot strained. Also for touring a P200 is anyday better than both these due to the higher torque. To avoid battery drain, just disconnect the terminals. Nothing will happen.
