Thanks for the tips on RE thread JD. Does the drop in compression result in sudden power losses at low speeds? Coz I am experiencing that for around 15 mins after cold starts.

Omi - why dont you just purchase a car dashboard watch. connect it to the battery, and also to the ignition switch. whenever you will switch the ignition on, it will get illuminated. ( its backlit, so no issue of lighting it also )

And you can maybe make a cut out in the dash of the 220 where the meter is mounted, and mount it flush, giving it a neat and clean look. Hardly 100-200 rs mod job.
