    if thats the cse i would seriously recommend you to delay the buying by at least an year or 6 months as at that time you will be able to get 2008 indian invoiced busa for a lesser price and at the same time your cash in hand will also increase by around 1.5-2 lakhs...

    yes i would like to go for a indian invoice.. but its very hard to find one... if u happen to come across any pls let me know..
    my budget is around 5.5-6. over and above i have to take a loan... so would not prefer anything above 8.5 as it becomes expensive...
    i even dont mind getting a 03-04 busa if the records are fine.. but hard to find..
    thats where i am at.. searching for a Busa/1000RR for last 4 months... with cash in hand..

    hi ashok,

    a lot of the ilegal importers during the 2007-08 period did the same thing. they used to undervalue the vehicle and then pay the duty accordingly.... so i will still say that as per the rules of the governement of india if the bike was a new import and full duty i.e. 110% hasnt been paid it is illegal.

    however the bike when imported to india was a used bike which was imported under transfer of residence and the bike has been undervalued by the import officials themseleves taking into account the depreciated value of the bike then its a different case.

    but i am not able to understand one thing. you are ready to pay 8.5 lakhs for a bike which is around 4 years old and might be an illegal import when at the same time you can get a 2009-2010 model at a price of around 10 lakhs....
    if i were you i would take a personal loan of the rest of the 1.5 lakh rupees and go for an indian invoiced bike instead of an import.

    Hi kinshuk,

    the valuation was done at 3652USD. & total duty paid is 4.5 lakh. as the valuation done itself is less, duty is also less... so will there be a problem (as the govt valuation is 3652USD & full duty paid on this value)

    hi ashok,

    check how much is the duty paid in the duty paid receipt. as in 2008 there was a 110% duty on CBUs. so the total duty paid should be equal to somewhere around 7-8 lakhs.

    now as you are saying that the parts came in separatley to save the duty i somehow doubt that the bike will have full duty paid. and anything less than a full duty paid bike is illegal. and you can check with two offices for the bike first is the KA01 RTO and the other you can contact the DRI itself to see if they have have any records of the bike.

    Hi Kinshuk,

    i am buying the imported/used bike - Busa. so need your help on this. Bike details:
    Hayabusa - 08 - new shape - Imported (not TR) - registered in 08
    Bill of entry - yes
    Duty paid reciept - yes
    RC - yes
    its a KA 01 registered - how trustworthy it is?
    asking price is 8.5

    there is a letter from customs in one of the para - it says "Chassis & engine number matching, but however the above mentioned model is not found"

    Also it came with chassis & engine only & the plastics came seperately but with the same packet (as its mentioned 3 packets) to save on the duty...
    value - 1000 USD
    total value after depriciation - 3620 USD

    Now i need to know
    1> is this bike will be legal?? will i have probs with the the DRI?
    2>how do i make sure the documents are real and not fake..

    guys please help me on this.. need to finalise this quickly!!!
