Pipli to Yamunanagar is only 50kms. The route is fine with occasional bad patches in between. Slightly congested. But apart from this the who route till Dehradun does not much traffic.

I donot know any places to stay in Dehradun as I have never stopped there. After Dehradun, 12 kms ahead is a fork. One road leads to Mussourie and the other to a place called Shahastra dhara which is just 10 kms ahead. Famous for sulphur water river. Should be visited.

In Mussourie you can visit Kempty falls, George Everest, Laal Tibba etc. Stay for a night in possible.

I would say dont stay in dehradun. Delhi - Dehradun would take you around 8 hours. Visit shahastradhara and stay in mussoirie. Next day visit the rest of the places and then move on to Dhanaulti. Next day roam around dhanauli. Not much to see and do there, just to relax. 4th day come back to delhi.

EDIT: And, can you suggest some economical place for accomodation at Dehradun, Mussoorie and Dhanaulti?

I'm thinking about the schedule to be like

Day 1: Reach Dehradun and visit some local places (if any, suggestions please)
Day 2: Head towards Mussoorie around 8:00 in the morning and spend the whole day there visiting Kemty fall and other places.(suggestions for places to visit)
Day 3: Head towards Dhanaulti and visiting places there and staying there at night.(again, suggestions for places to visit)
    Day 4: Back to Delhi.

Is this schedule possible? I mean, is it possible to head towards the destination every morning and then sight-seeing on the same day?

Pasting it here to have better conversation... I hope you don't mind

    KurtRules: There are 3 routes:

    Delhi . . . Dehradun
    .
    .
    .
There are other shorter routes, but those are not highways

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

But, what about the route after Pipli?Never travelled on that... especially till yamunanagar. I travelled on that route... from Ladwa-Radaur-Yamunanagar. Isn't it much conjested

And, if we keep cruising on around 90kmph, how much time (obviously estimated) will it take if we consider 2 breaks of half an hour each trhoughout the route?
