Why open the block right now? I feel opening up your carb and checking everything will be a better idea first! Even your mech. says its most likely the carb, right?

Sorry can't help about the replacement carb issue. I suggest you 1st try to find out what the problem is. Replacing should be the last resort...

As for the fuel lines... you are using the original new TVS fuel filter, I hope?

Just replied there. Its possible that the jerking problem is caused by the carb... you need to check everything out very carefully...
