Hey Sandeep, your thread about engine oils was really helpful! I called up a motul distributor to purchase 3000 20W50 for my P220. But he said that its only available in 15W50 grade and instead told me to buy 5100. I checked the website and on it, its mentioned that it the 3000 has API SG and JASO MA standards whereas P220 requires API SL or SJ grades. Since its specifically mentioned im a bit confused. Also do i need to speak to someone from bajaj before changing the oil? Please guide. Ill be visiting the dealer in minerva in a few days.

    Thanks

    Hi Sandeep..
Needed one small clarification on Motul's 3000 4T for my 2006 Unicorn..
On the link you've posted on the thread, there's no 20W40 rated oil in the 3000 4T series.. But you've said that it's available at a dealer near minerva circle..
Could you please advise me on which oil to purchase..?

    @ Memphes -

ZMA - tourer. Period. Unless you want a bullet .. I wouldn't recommend anything. But I dont know how much value you can get for your Pulsar ...

Ankur - it will be possible to fit it on older pulsars too - maybe just a little bit of modification in the wiring thats all.

    Hi Sandeep,

I'm an ardent reader of your truly sensible posts and replies. I come to you with a little state of confusion and it's on the brim of turning into a decision after reading your blog stating that you have a new ride - the "KARIZMA R."

I own a P150 (June '06 model) red/black, immaculately maintained with regular service at CBZs alone. However, recently, I've had to bail out of long tours that my group does because of my ride. I'm sure that you being an ex-owner of a Pulsar, knows what the reason would be. Especially when the group is all full of hondas, hero hondas, enfields. So, I'm really thinking of upgrading to a ride where endurance and performance are key. From the current stable, none other than the ZMA qulaify this requirement.

Now, here's the dilemna. What would be the best way to fix a good deal on my P150? And do you recommend anything other than the ZMA? The Ninja is waaaay out of the budget with a price tag of 2lac. Hwoever, it sure would have been the all-rounder here.
