I have used 10W 30 from gulf which is s semi syth and its a great oil for its price---Motul is the only Ester based(superior) TRUE synthetic oil thats available in india. When it comes to protection and heat management(300V being a TRUE synthetic oil dissipate's heat twice as fast compared to other group 3 oils) nothing beats the 300 V in the indian market period---Then it comes at an astronomical price tag of Rs 895---I am currently running my Xtreme on 10W 40 just crossed 4000Kms and the engine still feels smooth no roughness exp. so far.To accurately know when to change the oil only an oil analysis can tell that---So i have decided to change the every 4000kms to be safe.

    Thanks sarbanoxly for the reply.

As far as i know(and also confirmed with gulf southern region head)"gulf pride 4t plus 20w40(black bottle) is a mineral oil and not a ss oil....i am currently using it just yesterday i changed oil to gulf..the geras are smooth than before.....will wait for some kms to evaluate engine behaviour(as of now there is no change in engine roughness)

What is the drain period of moul 300v 10w40? and its price.....

When you say motul is best....how about valvoline ,petronas etc which are cheaper than motul?

Sorry for the late reply dude--NO stick to the manufacture's recommended grade as much as possible---I myself using motul 300V 10W 40 when my HH recommends 10W 30---The best oil in the market is no doubt Motul 300V make sure u get hold of 10W 40 300v and not the 5W 40 one which is a pure racing oil with just 3000km as the drain period---Hope this helps. For semi synth i recommend Gulf 20W 40---awesome oil for the price.

    Hi,

I am Nag from hyd...I own a three month old grey gs150r...I have queries regarding the engine oils.......Please use your experience and first hand info to answer the queries...

Can we use different grade eoils for different seasons.....

1)Can we use 15w50 eoil(ss/fs) in my gs only in summers(Feb to June/July)....because the avg temps are 44c...(suzuki recommands 20w40)..

2)shift to 10w40 in winters.....or should continue with the 15w50..... reasons?

what are best brands for mineral oils, semi synthetic and fully synthetic oils....

After how many kms one should shift to ss and fs oils..is it ok to shift to directly to fs from mineral(mine gs ran 2600kms)

    Thanks,
    Nag.
