Yes, hammering won't work with alloys-in fact, it will reduce the strength. Heat press is the only method.

i actually went to a wheel throwing shop there. he tried to hammer it. didn't work and instead he blamed me for wasting his time. anyway thank you very much.

No problem. They will ask you to bring the rim alone so you need to get the tyre&disc etc. removed first. I had got the tyre removed but asked them to remove the disc as the allen bolts were too tight. They have a heat press machine in which they put the rim&press it at the point where it is bent so it comes back to original shape. The rim keeps rotating so they can check for throughing. Simple 5min. procedure.

thanks yaar.can you tell me how do they repair the rim? actually my rim has a bend near the drum i think so. can they straighten it out?

I got it repaired at Secunderabad S.P. Road, opposite KFC for just Rs. 100.

Hey Sarvajit. I was searching the forums for a topic on bent rims when i came across your post where you said you got your r15's rim repaired at a hydraulic press. Can you please tell me the location where you got it repaired.
Thanks in advance. Cheers.
