Thread subscribed! I hope this thread would cater to the Classic 350 as well.

I test drove the Classic 500 last week and fell in love with it. I am looking forward to hear real-time experiences of CL500 tourers, in particular. This thread is really going to help me in a great way, in decision-making, some six months down the line.

Hi Krish,
When did you testride it? Myself and yuv_220 testdrove the classic 500 on Saturday evening and wow man.. awesome.. no words to describe it.. I have not driven such a powerful bullet ever! Felt like a 220 on the Rush it had and comfort was great as well. The Showromm guys also were kind enough with us!

You know how enfield bikes vibrate on the move and then suddenly...at a certain rpm things become really smooth?

I want to know:
1. What rpm in top gear does this happen?
2. What speed are you doing at the above rpm?
3. Are all the control cables gel filled or grease packed?
4. Are the tires tubeless? Forgot to check at the showroom...
5. How does the bike run with one spark plug? (remove the connector to the second and ride around)

thanks machan!

This happens at 1/4 of the throttle.. will be around 65 on 5th gear. rpm around 2.5K I guess

I guess its gel filled. need to double check that.
4. Are the tires tubeless? Forgot to check at the showroom...
Nope. we need a tube.
5. How does the bike run with one spark plug? (remove the connector to the second and ride around)
Tried it once and the bike started normally. Didnt try moving the bike.
thanks machan!
The only noise from the engine is the tappet noise. others are muted (compared to the 350UCE TBTS engine)
Hear a bit of knocking at low rpms, only when the bike is moving and when the engine is cold..

I ve one query, how does the Choke work on FI engines. Thut the ECU will do the needful.

Hey Prabhu, so finally took delivery eh? Would be fun to take your 500 out on a nocturnal ride that we usually do. I have persuaded 2 of my close friends to buy this motorcycle. I hope they dont prove me wrong over the kind of quality improvement in the engine department(not to mention the looks) that this motorcycle comes with. Would like a more detailed report from your side.

OT: Always ready. Dont ditch, will remind you on Thursday.

Do give us a little more first hand experience on the bike in terms of quality. I hope the quality levels are higher than the usual REs and I hope it isn't a bike that requires frequent visiting to the service center? Although a little too early, you "feel" certain things when you sit on it so do give us brief report on that.
