Default Initial Ownership: Hero Honda CBZ 2011

The Beginning:
In Year 2002 I ask my parents to purchase me a bike.
That time the obvious choice was Hero Honda Splendor.
So the search started and I with my cousin took the test ride of various other 100cc bikes available in that era.
Somehow I got more convinced with the drivability on power output of Kawasaki Bajaj BOXER AR and soon got one in black and red color combo for around Rs.36000 on road price jaipur.
I completed 34k kms in this time and sold it for Rs.12000.
This bike servered me well till 2007 till I got my Hands on HERO HONDA GLAMOUR.
Ownership experience of Hero Honda Glamour convinced Honda engineering is really a masterpiece. I am really impressed by the engine smoothness and dirt cheap maintaince.
But in mid 2009 I started feeling like I am driving a decade old bike whenever I see any new bike bike broad tyres and digital console.
So from here now a hunt for new bike started but Again from the fear of increasing fuel priced I finiallied the Honda Stunner.
Somehow I was happy with this bike but somewhere in my heart I always like the digital console available in new bike these days.
So finally on X-BHP i read the news “Hero Honda Upgrade CBZ Extreme” and reading few comments I shortlist as one of my new bike.
Now the question was-which bike should I sale-Hero Honda Glamour (2007 make; 24000 kms done) or the Honda Stunner (2009 make-4500 kms done).
And the Axe was dropped on Honda stunner as I was getting better price when compared to Hero Honda Glamour and I dint wasted a single second to sign the sale letter for Rs 35000.
The Hunt for the new Bike-
After driving the HH Glamour for than 3 years I was happy for the quality the Hero Honda brand offers. So I was more inclined towards the HH brand.
After taking the test ride of other 150cc option in market I find the cbz more re-freshing and better. Only second to Honda Dazzler. But I never liked the twister like styling of dazzler which made me purchase The CBZ 2011 model.
Since the rumors were high of Honda and hero break-up I was confused to really put my Rs.80,000 on this brand but then my heart rules over my brain and supported by other X-bhp members I took the decision of purchasing the Brand “CBZ” from HERO (Honda) Motors.

The Judgment Day:
Now the final take was between HH Cbz 2011 and HH hunk 2011. And the cbz 2011 won the battle there after.

Initial Ownership review:

Cbz 2011 is really heavy bike to drive but once the speedo crosses 15km/h it’s a braze to drive.
Rear disk brakes are not so crip as the front disk brakes( sometime I feel normal brake are better than rear disk)
Bike is really a gem to drive in corners. Superb handling!
Drove around 75kms on day 1 and planning to change the engine oil after another 75 kms, i.e. 150 kms.
Rear and side styling is way better than the front looks. But the digital console is the best available in the lot.
Gear changing is heavy when compared to unicorn.
1ST And 2nd gears are short but other 3 are balanced.
No Accerories like seat covers are available as of it now!
And at last- THANKS FOR READING ME FOR SO LONG!

Nice.

Why are you planning to change engine oil in just 150 KM?

Default engine oil change @ 150 kms.

some where on x-bhp i had read that since the engine is new-the metal to metal contact in engine bay produces friction and hence oil lubrication property id lost.

There is no problem changing oil early. I would say for a 150cc valuable bike, in about 2000KM, one should change oil 4 times to ensure prolonged engine life and smoothness.

Four times in 2000Kms!!!!!!.Are people here getting crazier or what???Once every 1800-2000Kms is more than enough.Even that is kind of an overkill ie; if you are using good quality oil.

Change oil @ 150,500 and 1000kms marks.Changing oil doesn't harm your engine,After that if you are using HH OEM oil, change every 1000kms and if you are using other oils like gulf, then change every 2000 or 2500kms.

people...the oil HH is using now is better than what we use to get 2-3 yrs back. I owned HH ambition, zma and now zmr. In zmr i am changing the oil every alternate services and it does stick without issues. completed 25K kms in 15 months. previously used to change the oil every service when i used to ride zma, now i just have to top up the oil when i am not chaning it.....so be rest assured the engine will be in top condition.
