Just thought about writing this 'cos I saw lots of posts about people paining their wrists/arms/shoulders while riding and refrainig from the R15 due to these reasons. I think that the seating position can be overwhelming for someone shifting from a commuter to the R15, like I did. But these are not major worries and can be corrected through some simple adjustments. I claim to be no expert, but this is what I felt works. This is just based on my experience and some googling(which I've tested) .
1) DONT rest your body weight on your handlebars. This makes the front heavy (preventing easy flicking), and is the main cause for people to get those pains. Try and pivot majority of your weight on your buttocks and lower back. You can lean forward or be upright, but always refrain from resting on the handlebars. This position also helps keeping your upper body agile and free, and permits you to shift between tucking in and coming upright with speed and flexibility. 2) Hug the tank with your knees. Apart from taking some weight off your upper body, this will also assist you in becoming 'one' with the bike. Lowers drag, centralizes and lowers(if tucked in) the CG. The fenders provide excellent wind drag protection, so we should use it, esp on high speeds. We thankfully dont face the wrath of the hot (quite literally) superbikes. 3) Rest the padded part of the foot on the footrest. Though you'll have to use the toes when you're tucking in for a drag or something, this is a relatively relaxed position. I have been following these rules for sometime and have experienced no pains whatsoever. Infact, I like the stance and am totally in love with it. Wouldnt go back to the drab upright for anything. |

IRC is a good brand... but i suggest against changing the tyres if performance matters to you more than looks... many here might already suggested this to you... 99% of the R15 owners here doesn't entertain changing of the R15s tyres... so you have come to the wrong place to ask advice on changing tyres on the R15... if you are still planning to go ahead with your plan, there are many here who would be willing to give you good money for your stock tyres...

I changed my tyres on my cbz-x BECAUSE the stock tyres werent good enough
but come on, with the R15 the case is totally different... you cant get better tyres than the ones the company fits at that price (or even thrice of that) ! first of all, never change the front tyre with a wider one, seriously affects handling and steering the bike will get much heavier. this comes from a future R15 rider+owner :P :P P.s if you are still willing to change tyres, you will get pm's from loads of people here asking to sell your stock tyres to them

I am not interested in changing my R15's tires but still asking this question.
Will there be any change in performance if we use Michelin Power 120/70/17 Front Tires as the Rear tire on R15?
