Default Bajaj Pulsar 150 All Versions

All Bajaj pulsar owners can share this thread for experiences.

problems recently with my bike

Model -Pulsar 150 DTSi ES 2004.

odo- 40000kms

Problem- Electric stater

After purchasing the bike in 2004 this is the first battery that i hav purchased. The previous one did close to 25000 kms .Very recently I got my bike an Exide9MX battery from an authorised dealer.
After 7 days the battery goes low and the self was of no use. Took it back to the dealer and he charged up the battery at no cost. Again , all worked well. But ,again the bike refuses to start when its a bit close.
When I ride harder and for more hrs then only the self start works. I never use self at early morning ,for that reasoon I hav kick start. But I think the problem is not with the battery there is something else. Though the battery is under warranty, so no worries abt that but I dont knw if the stater is ok or not. The horn is better as new which says that the battery is giving juices to the horn. Bike needs to be heated to use the self. So, what may be the problem?
Is the stater gone kaput? or its jst normal with this model?

I have a 2006 model pulsar, Got my bike serviced yesterday.
odo reading:-25700km

1) I changed front disc pads and fork oil.
2) changed Engine Oil to MOTUL 300V.
3) adjusted back shocks on the higher side to increase bike's height.

I took back my bike back to my house which is just half KM.
but, when i went for a long ride today, feeling vibrations on handle bar.
after 40km of riding, my hands started paining due to those vibrations.
it occurs from the moment bike starts moving.

what could be the problem?

@RPMBoy: There is no problem with the battery on your bike. Please have your bike checked by a experienced mech. Get your bike's rectifier checked as its does'nt seem to be charging your battery well. It could cost you arnd 500 bux for a new original one if detected faulty. Good Luck.

hmmm !!! ok will that . thnx

I also want the front rubber changed as it has gone a bit too bald/plain. Its good in dry condition ,just like a slick tyre for tracks but not good for WEt and cornering.
So, can I use 3.00X18 MRF zapper up front . I hav 100/90 X18 Continental doing duty in rear wheel. So will it work with having a beafy front tyre too? will it decrease the top whack of 118kmph?
Currently I city centric with minimum highway ride but in future i will be doing lons rides.
or I should stick to 2.75X18? Zapper or any other? Suggest.
I like the tread of RTR 160,is it available in 18 inches?

It sounds like the Fuel Blogging or Air logging in your Tank

Just check this self test
Open your Tank Lid and make it open while the Fuel Tap is in ON Mode
After few seconds close the LID and run up

If the engine doesnt stops and runs perfectly - then it is the AIR Locking bugger which is making the problem
Teach the bajaj mechanincs about the issue and get them solved it

(OT) Well i've teached Bajaj mechanics many things to do

I own a 2006 150 DTSi. Clocked 13000 kms till date. Have not experienced any major problems with the bike as yet.

But... my bike runs very well in cold weather (early mornings and at nights) but it feels relatively harsher and strained during the warmer times (afternoons). My guess was that the air-fuel mixture is rich, hence it runs better when colder denser air is available. Am I right?

One more thing, the oil level has started dropping below the minimum mark after just 1000kms of filling new oil!! There are no signs of oil leaks anywhere near the engine, the exhaust doesn't produce white smoke and there has been no drop in mileage. I even had the oil seals replaced few months back. So what's wrong?
