It is actually a 55W car smog light(i think). Outdated design by a company called Volga. Not the best, but one such light can be added(via ignition switch and an extra button) without any mods to the stock harness.

You can either mount the focus light on the body panel(not recommended on Dio since it can crack the plastic panels). If you do this the light would be stationary ie will not move with the steering. See the pic below....

Or if you remove the front mudguard you can use the guard mounting bracket on the forks to added the light. If you do this then the light will move with the forks. See the pic below....

If you need more info about the mounting process then lemme know will upload a detailed post in the appropriate thread. (I have the process well documented )

^^Nice one there, it'll surely light up the road, i hope it's well focused.
But i would not like to compromise with the mudguard.

BTW, is your electricals AC or DC??

Thanks, ya mudguard is not exactly something you can easily dispose off but I can manage except during the rains
To focus you have to adjust the angle(trial and error) and once you get it right just tighten the screws that hold the light. The added light is helpful on roads that have no street lights. Works best when turned on simultaneously with the headlight. But obviously not as good as HID's. My electricals are all stock ie AC. I used this old skool approach to add the extra light since didn't want to convert to DC to use HID's.

35w+55w=90w, if my mathematics is right, shouldn't the simultaneous use of both bulbs drain the battery very fast?

Hi sid, Have been following your posts closely. Its good to see another dio maniac like me (you can call me an ex dio maniac now) & have kept this thread alive by your posts.

So have you got the rewinding stuff done on your dio.

Single 55W focus light does not drain the battery. I am not good at mathematics so telling you from personal experience . Btw in my case most of the focus light use is on the highways when the recharging is at its peak. Don't know why this set-up does't strain the battery, but I am happy it is so. The stock rectifier can handle the extra load (have checked with voltmeter to ensure sufficient charging voltage for the battery).

Earlier I had added two circular 55W each, focus lights. These two lights drained the battery, if I would keep them on for 15 minutes without starting the bike(Since I have connected the lights through the ignition switch, you dont need to start the bike, just turn ignition key and the focus light starts) But had no problem running the two while riding the bike. Now turning the two lights on and starting the headlight !! even if not stationary ie while riding, would kinda mess up the light intensity and the battery. So I removed those lights and added a single focus light.

See this pic

Thanks madhav, me too pleased to meet a fellow 'dioite' !! Ya thread was kinda dead. I dont know why so. Maybe because most people who buy 100cc automatics do so just for the purpose of commuting, unlike us

As I said earlier I haven't done any rewinding, RR replacing, cut-out, etc. All electricals and parts on my dio are stock. I prefer having the honda reliability.

Thanks my fellow dioite !! Me too loved that look, unfortunately stock electricals couldn't handle the load .

Exclamation Suspension Query

Anyone unhappy with the suspension (read: front suspension), of the Activa/Dio??

@Aviator riders; Is the telescopic suspension of the Aviator (drastically) better than the Dio/Activa ones?

I hate the dio suspension, mostly since your spine acts as a part of the suspension. But if its softer then around the corners it would not be so agile. Aviators telescopics should be much better than dio/activa's primitive hydraulics. But i'll leave this to the owners to comment..
