Exclamation The R15 Garage Thread

Ok!
So the R15 Ownership thread is going crazy will a zillion posts about the softer aspects of the bike.
Here is a thread dedicated ONLY for hardware aspects of the bike, all the custom maintenance, Performance Mod jobs (NOT the tyres, paints, Polish and bulb crap and all) goes here!

Mods: Please approve this thread.

Cheers!

Topic Approved.

Although this topic is being approved, but I didn't quite get the reason behind another Ownership Thread about the R15.

Thanks Aryan, the reason for this thread is very evident with the kind of posts that goes on there.... I mean this will save a lot of time for people who have to (now painfully) scan a lot of paint-polish-sticker posts to know about the various tweaking that hardware can\should get...
This will be a dedicated thread only for all hardware mods and stuff.... Hardcore Garage stuff....

For Eg. The opportunity that the FID can now bring to people like us et all!

Much needed! But maybe it should've been opened in the technical section rather than in the ownership section! :P

I guess it must be moved to the technical section, other than that this was most awaited. It was a pain to read through so many pages when i was deciding to buy the bike. Now we'll have all the right technical info at one place and all pain polish crap on the other one

keep this thread purely technical guys .

Lets start with the FID (Yamaha Fuel Injection diagnostic Tool) With this tool you can basically diagnose what is working / not in the bike. It gives out the error codes by which you can diagnose the problem.Things like throttle position,Coolant temperature , Lean angle sensor etc etc can be checked within a few minutes.

Other than the diagnostic there is a "CO mode" where you can change the co settings of the bike. Most of the stock bikes are set at "0" .

Have attached a page of a few error codes.will post more info shortly.

Joel should be the right person for giving more fundas regarding the engine .

Hi! You might find the question dumb, but I'm still asking it! (I'm not as technically blessed as most of you are! )
What is CO here (All I can think of is Carbon Monoxide!), & what do you mean by CO settings?
How does it help alter/increase performance?

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back;
and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

So with CO mode, can we prevent the fuel mixture from going lean when we using a K&N.?
I hope it's not dump question

Yeah, I guess it is making the AFR rich or lean, for a new airfilter maybe. Joel had said this in the ownership thread.

@Navnish- If you have a K&N and the FID, plz post the settings to use with a K&N airfilter (with the model no. also).
