Those are all old prices and off the mark by about 5L. Example 848 is 20L otr. Streetfighter is 24L otr. Streetfighter-S is 30L otr.

I was at the dalership this weekend and the prices stunned me into climbing back on my poor man's MT01 and riding back home.

Even the Monster 696 is some 12.5L!!!!

      Insane pricing...

I can't understand why these Ducati's are way overpriced/highly priced... Is there any other thing than "exclusivity"... means in a low man's knowledge what's the difference in performace wise(leave the looks... these italian's are the best sculptur's, i agree) between an liter class Jap's and liter class Ducati's...
            Experts share your knowledge pls...
A Ducati Desmosedici RR is a Race Replica in which there are only 1500 Desmo's all around the world... That's means it's an exclusivity...
            But other's i can't understand... a 43Lakhs Ex-Showroom... what the F**K...

It also has to do with production scales. The Japs are into mass-production and automation. Ducati and associated companies (KTM/Aprilia/etc) have lesser output/year and they feature hand-made products more often than not.
And this is what I think: The high standards of life in Europe, high wages, high costs etc etc must be contributing to the high price. Add in a strong Euro...
Performance-wise I think they are comparable.
Those lucky enough to buy Italian marques can be heard expressing disdain for the "commonplace" Yamahas and Suzukis.

Don't think so. Limited run, but even if they do bring it down, a price tag of more than 1 Crore will be highly likely.

There IS a Desmo in India though! Don't recall who owns it...

Does Demosedici costs 1Crore Rupees??? In US its below 50Lakhs INR(if am right)... and Ducati only produced 1500 Desmos only...
                  Whether Ducati produces Desmo's now???

I also visited the showroom and was told import duty rate had recently been dropped to 60%. Is this correct as prices should have dropped. I enquired on servicing and to date they are still searching for a facility.....

Well that is the problem...Desmosedici is used exclusively for racing. They made a number of Race Replicas (RR's) for road use and then stopped. Can't see new ones so if anyone has to bring one down, it will be a used one and will be taxed even more.
Add to that the fact that it was ~72K $ while the 1098R is ~40K$ in the USA and the 1 crore figure seems likely.

mmm ~1Crore for the bike... if i had that money i am never gonna spend that much cash for a bike which is slightly high(in any sense/"EXCLUSIVITY") or on par with the Japs...
Oh forgot, i wan't to collect some money before Dec 10th for my FZ's montly EMI...... LOL...

There is no new price list.

The way the prices have suddenly been jacked up is surprising. I was in touch with a few people in Ducati for a Streetfighter S, and things were going very slow for some or the other reason. I hate to assume that this was the reason why. Needless to say, the SF-S is now beyond my ability to purchase/own.
