And moreover, would the FZ16 customer really not buy the Semi Faired version because its power hasn't been bumped up..?? Unlikely according to me.. the USP of the FZ has been the Styling rather than outright performance.

The P200/220, RTR Fi 160, RTR 180 (if case it is priced above the current FZ) and especially ZMA sales might taper off due to this New Style Bhai.

True, the appeal of FZ is definitely going to increase. A 20bhp engine would the perfect complement for these looks. The bike looks way too cool for a ~14bhp power. Its like selling a Karizma lookalike with a 100cc Splendor engine

i disagree sir .......... the fairing will only add more weight to the bike ....
plus the FZ-S already cost 75.5 k .......... only for a fairing guys would charge 5k more i guess if they can charge 2k more for a small color change
considering it to be a 153cc and costing 80 k n even slower than the normal FZ-S or FZ-16 .... IMO it would be simple waste of money .... but then hey ,,, how many performance bikers are out there ........
performance wise considering i comp with zma ,,,,
its nowhere near to it sir n neither do i think it will taper sales of any of the bikes mentioned ........
let the menace come out n we ll see

If this was a test by Yamaha to see public opinion/youngsters opinion on this new semi faired FZ, and, if the response in xBhp is anything to go by, Yamaha has a winner here.
2 threads (with 1 more which was about to come) withing a day of the pics release, and the threads burning pages, I guess the question I had asked in the speculation thread has been answered. People would buy this if priced about the ZMA territory.

I wouldn't be surprised if Yamaha also tweaked the already torquey 150 engine a bit for more power. Whatever come may, Yamaha is on a roll.

EDIT: Hero Honda should come to xBhp often, check out the state of affairs and get their acts together on the higher segment because even though they still have market share, products are coming thick and fast from the competition (Yamaha, Bajaj, TVS).

Looks good, but money talks. IMO currently FZ is overpriced and I wouldn't pay 80K for this bike if it were launched at that price with its semi-fairing form.

There ain't no doubt that with this version FZ's gonna spear further ahead than competition in the looks department. But I'll hold any comments on the power front, I'll wait and watch. But I do hope Yamaha would pep up its power 'cause now this bike definitely looks quite big. This ain't gonna be compact like the FZ16/S.

And as outworldly maniac has said, this fairing's gonna increase the bike's weight easily by couple of kgs along with more price, so I'll hope that there will be some power increase! Fingers crossed.

Second Kwokfist on that. 80k for a FZ even with projector lamps, some more fiberglass or whatever the hell and I for sure won't be trading in my Zma !

However, a 250 mill and i'll take a raincheck on the trade

Hope they add some ponies to complement the addition of more bulk.

I think Yamaha is going the international way here. Along with the naked version, they are now introducing the semi faired version of FZ16 in the market. And for this reason I am skeptical if there's gonna be any power increase in the bike! But I so much hope that I go wrong here!

Unlike R15, this bike doesn't have a delta box frame, FI, link type mono suspension, 4 valve engine n all. So Yamaha must add some power to justify the high price tag which is likely to come with the addition of this semi fairing. I am not gonna pay any more than its current price just for the fantastic looks but normal performance.
