I have some info to share:

1) Launch date will be around 3rd week of October 2009.
2) 50 CKD units from Thailand will be assembled/have been assembled in the Chakan plant.
3) Bangalore will take priority for sales, followed by Delhi and/or Mumbai. No idea about Pune or other cities.
4) Pricing is around the 3L mark. No idea about exact figure, whether over or below 3L.

Note: This info was passed on to me for public consumption. In case there are changes in the end, please do not lynch the messenger That said, this info is pretty much solid.

The thread is being opened for sometime. If there is any unnecessary deviation from topic, I'm watching this thread with a hawk eye and will be shut down immediately.

Just 50 CKD units...!! I guess the first lot will be sold only to High profile customers...! The price around 3L is quite high...

It seems first 100 or 500 for all cream customers and than later at a reduced or discounted price for other customers may be with some hidden jhols or costs

@rossiter: Public consumption leading to food poisoning man! The Ninja 250 has been on our menu for so long that a bad taste is the only thing left on our tongues. When it does arrive on shore, we'll love it inspite of the saree guard and the ugly number plate and the impractical pricing. We'll love it because its green, its mean and its gonna be fun! Take a video, and some pics when it lands in Bangalore. Call us (not webex) and we'll ride down to Bangy.

Cheers,

True that. I'd actually written the bike off (still have actually). High cost, indiscriminate delay are going to be the biggest stumbling block. Besides, there will be more viable and more attractive alternatives in the market soon. Things are definitely getting better.

Definitely will not do the webex thingy again man. (Sorry GS ). You need to ride to Bangy anyway. Come down and we'll scoot around.
