John Abraham flags off the Castrol Power1 Passion Hunt: The Hunt for India’s Most Passionate Biker

Castrol Brand Ambassador - Actor John Abraham, today flagged off the Castrol Power1 Passion Hunt, in Mumbai, in search of India’s ‘Most Passionate Biker’.

The Castrol Power1 Passion Hunt will enable biking enthusiasts across the country to come together to showcase and share their passion for biking and also vie for the title of the “Castrol Power1’s Most Passionate Biker”.

The contest preliminaries will be conducted in 8 cities (Pune, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore) and the grand final will be held in Delhi. The preliminary rounds will include a test of biking skills, style quotient, biking knowledge and overall passion for biking. The winner of these rounds will then compete against each other at the finals which will be held in April. The winner of the All India title of “Castrol Power1’s Most Passionate Biker” will win a Yamaha R1 Superbike which will be handed over by John Abraham.

Speaking at the Press Conference to announce the event, A S Ramchander, Executive Director, Castrol India Limited, said, “Castrol has a long and distinguished association with bikes and bikers. Castrol has been locally and globally associated with all forms of motorsport including motorcycle racing, over the last 100 years. This year, which marks the 100th year of the Castrol brand in India, we decided to extend our interaction with all passionate bikers who in fact form the core of our motorcycle consumer base. Castrol Power1 Passion Hunt will give us an opportunity to further strengthen our relationship with our consumers and give them an opportunity to experience the passion of motorcycling and the performance of the Castrol brand”.

Castrol Brand Ambassador - John Abraham, who is a passionate biker himself, said, “I am proud to be associated with such a high performance, top-of-the-line brand like Castrol Power1. The Castrol Power1 Passion Hunt will be a really exciting event and I would have definitely participated in it were it not my own Brand event! This event is the place for bikers to demonstrate their passion and biking skills rather than on the roads where you can endanger your lives and the lives of other people. At Castrol, Road Safety is the number one priority and therefore this event has been designed to ensure maximum safety while making it enjoyable and exciting”.


Members of the xBhp team, one of India’s leading biking communities, will partner with Castrol to judge the event and determine the finalists and the eventual winner. This team will travel across India through 17 cities to promote the event and talk to bikers about the passion of biking.

In addition to the on ground event, there will be an online component as well in the Castrol Power1 Passion Hunt. Bikers can log on to power1hunt.com and can create their own personal profiles as passionate bikers to showcase to the world. On this site, bikers can upload pictures, videos and stories pertaining to biking. Visitors to the site will be able to vote for the online ‘Castrol Power1’s Most Passionate Biker’ and this biker will also have an opportunity to participate in the All India Final competition.

To help promote this exciting event, Castrol has partnered with PVR Cinemas and Radio City. The timeframe of the Castrol Power1 Passion Hunt from the flag off today to the finish is 6th February – 22nd April
