This is what I do on the machine.
1. Make sure bike is services properly (including changing engine oil)
2. Make sure wheels are spinning freely
3. Regularly lube my chain (ill maintained chain can cause resistance)
4. Check tyre pressure
5. Use stock tyres (90/100 F/R)
As for riding
1. No sudden acceleration. Twist the throttle very gently. I'm often the last off the green lights . Anyway I'm rearly in a hurry.
2. Keep below 4k on any gear (shift as quickly as possible). I often shift gears at 3 k.
3. Anticipate signals. If I see red light far off (especially in express highways). I slow down. By the time I near the signal, it turns to green, and I continue on in 5th gear often. If you know certain signals have long waiting period, shut engine.
So kaynmantis sir just tell me following things:

1 What should be Gear and Speed Ratio?
2 How to apply Brake in fast speed?
3 How to apply sudden brakes without loosing balance?
4 How to do cornering?
5 How to drive in Slow/Jam Traffic?
How to maintain lowest rpm in any gear?

and lastly, what a indicator indicates in RPM meter in pulsar 180. What if it glow and what if it doesnt glow.

Perfect answer.
Even I heard one of our mods from Shillong extracted an unbelievable mileage from a 1000cc sportsbike.

Do you start your Platina or just push it?

best way: dump the 150cc and buy the new ZMR. it is giving 58 KMPL on the highway.

ROTFL. Good idea! And the money we save with that mileage will require some years to cross the money we spend extra on buying ZMR instead of a 150cc!!

Is it Pulsar UG4? Anyways 30Kmpl is too low, expect a mileage of at least 38 to 42.

If all the above points are Ok, then the carburetor is not properly tuned. Go to SVC, but do make sure Air Fuel Ratio is set to balanced and not too LEAN, as it generally happens when you ask SVC people for low mileage.

LOL! The mileage depends on my riding style. Once I even got 40 km/l on the highway. That was when I was completely ripping the bike.

Yes rahuldevnath its ug 4, and bought it on diwali. RPM never exceeded 4k. Some more questions.

4 How to do cornering?
5 How to drive in Slow/Jam Traffic?

1 What should be Gear and Speed Ratio? it depends on you ..generally try to shift each gear at 3k-4k rpm..
your not on drags,so try to shift as early as possible, but donot allow ur engine to produce a knocking sound
2 How to apply Brake in fast speed?
donot apply disc's during fast speeds, apply rear brakes first ,then slightly apply front/disc brakes
3 How to apply sudden brakes without loosing balance?
apply both the brakes at the same time,40% front disc 60% rear brake
4 How to do cornering?
experts,help him in this matter
5 How to drive in Slow/Jam Traffic?
just keep it in 3rd-2nd gear according to the situation
How to maintain lowest rpm in any gear?
u cannot maintain lower rpm's in higher gears
and lastly, what a indicator indicates in RPM meter in pulsar 180. What if it glow and what if it doesnt glow.
it glows when the fuel is in reserve, that is in p180 when the fuel goes below 4ltrs,it will glow
and when u redline, the redlight will glow
ans are in bold,
btw what others are absolutely corrrect, smoothness is the key to extract higher mileages..
but bikes above 150cc are meant for power,if u want FE bikes..then go for 100 cc or 125 cc ..

here's my bit of info. not exactly to your questions
My roomie has bought a new p180 ug4 on sep 30
bike has run under 500km and first service is due now. and i've done most of the 500!
on the mileage, the first 100rs refill gave a mileage of ~35 km
the next 2 100 rs fill gave ~45-48 kmpl.

our room to workplace is less than 2 km and has a steep uphill climb onto a very busy junction without traffic lights. and the longest continuous drive has been a 25 km ride to the beach and back. So the mileage may be better under better circumstances.

For getting better mileage, here's my 2 cents. the ug3 upwards comes with analog ignition upto 3k rpm or so. so try to keep the tacho between 3-5 k . also the engine sound is a very good feedback source. always make sure you do not lug the engine. any sign of pinking and go easy on the throttle or downshift.
The TPS helps to auto advance the ignition for better performance. no matter at what rpm you are, whenever you open the throttle, you feel that the engine sounds changes a lot. this is due to the different ignition mapping and the larger air intake size.
when accelerating, maintain a mild and steady throttle. rather than giving high throttle on a high gear and watch the tacho climb slowly, downshift and accelerate mildly. this is often quicker than the former method.
And always the engine does pick up speed at a constant throttle.

Also, for very slow traffic, downshift liberally and let go of the clutch. the bike pulls effortlessly on 1st and 2nd gear without throttle(idle speed).

All these are for those who spend 70k+ on a bike but wont spend 1000rs on gas a month.
I used to ride a 180 ug2 for 6 months and it used to return me >40kmpl shifting gears at 7k+. (the sweet spot of the 180 lies between 6-9 k IMHO).
unfortunately, i had to shift quarters to this new place where i can't rip a pulsar. So the wise guy I am bought an rx100 and I can now ride till 3rd gear and the little bike gives me a healthy 25kmpl

@ceasar
2 How to apply Brake in fast speed?
donot apply disc's during fast speeds, apply rear brakes first ,then slightly apply front/disc brakes

I'd recommend exactly the opposite. Discs are for quick stopping. whenever you are in a straight line use the disc and use the rear brake only to support it. (forget about brakes when the handle is not straight. use engine braking instead / brake into the curve)

3 How to apply sudden brakes without loosing balance?
apply both the brakes at the same time,40% front disc 60% rear brake
same as above. The rear brake on the 180 is not very good. mild braking often produces little result and on hard braking the rear skids.(my experience but not on ug4 maybe the 120 section tyres are better?)

Emergency braking cannot be premeditated. it comes with your general riding style or experience.
