I have a two-piece!
Yes, I am really thinking about that lately... The other day I was in Chennai and it rained so heavily we almost missed our flight! Till the time the road and traffic conditions remain so in India (and will not change), a motorcyclist without water protection will get splashed, no matter what. |

I wont help anybody any on the roads except pretty girls
![]() How do I know if that guy standing there is not a criminal, who will rob me with a knife or a gun? I dont want to take the risk. However, in case of the pretty girl, the risk is well worth taking.

^^^+1;
MT01 is posting irrelevant to topic, I've noticed similar comment on a different thread too. May be time for some action from the Mods.

The thread says to help fellow motorcyclists.
If I stop to help a fellow biker, and he robs me, then what? So by the means of the above post I have (humourously) tried to argue against the appeal made by the creator of this thread, as not all people are good, and nobodyy can make out a good guy from an evil guy by virtue of his face. |

Bluevolt: Investing in a suit is a sensible thing to do. That is something bikers can do from their end to avoid being drenched. And it helps in most cases.
There are some instances however when the weather does not indicate any rain and wearing a suit only extends the biker's agony due to sweat. With the puddles still filled with water it is going to be bad eitherways. The water puddles accumulate a lot of filth that I do not want to describe in the forum to avoid giving a bad start for the day. So yes 1) Dont splash water. 2) Dont ride with a high beam on a rainy night. 3) And Do not be in a hurry to reach home in a traffic... you might end up pushing others to discomfort in your attempts to hurriedly avoid pot holes. Also be considerate to the pedestrians. |

.Takes me an hour to office. Riding daily in heavy rain for an hour, I've come to learn something. Bought several rain suit. An hour of heavy pounding by rain, I get wet anyway. Especially the crotch and shoes. Mind you, my shoes..boots to be precise... are water proof, though it doesn't help when water seeps in from top. The pants will ride up when you sit on the bike. Also when you sit, your crotch and thighs are at such an angle that rain seeps in from the waist area when rain pounds those areas with great force continuously. Since there are no proper rain suit for riding, I had to make do with whatever's available. So I decided to make them a little better myself. I chopped off the arms from another rain jacket. Put elastic bands on each ends and slipped then on my lower legs. Now my legs are completely water proof . Next I carry my bag on the front inside the jacket. Been reaching my destination completely dry ever since.Lastly, I have two helmets, One has no issues with rain. The other one..the inside part of the visor get wet because rain seeps in from between the visor and the shell because there is a small gap even when completely shut. I just pasted a strip of something (don't know the name. You find the on packings) there. Now inside visor remains dry. Only have to wipe the outside now and then while riding .
