[QUOTE=sarbanoxley;358149]Ok i dont know how to put this but all the people in my village when they hit
the highway stop at the village god's temple who is the protector of the village and pay respect this is done by everyone... bus, auto, lorry drivers do this.... they place lemon and run the vehicle over it i do this too for some reason this makes me feel good ."Appu, aiyyanaar koil'ah irukkum" "Karupana sami thunai'nnu" board pottiruppomla , yamakkum setthu rendu elumicchaiyai pulinchu porum ![]() [QUOTE=Penno;358730]Well Im a lot superstitious while riding as well as driving. I try my best to keep Gods as well as the devils pleased . 1 .First of all , I never move my car/bike in backwards direction at the start of the day or a journey. I just move the vehicle in forwards direction for a few inches and then move out on the parking lot in reverse if required. Learnt this from my dad , he says , "never start going backwards" . +1 |

If i think of this... i dont think i have ever taken my bike forward before taking it out from parking....ever...... I dont bother about cats/dogs/rats/ crossing but be carefull around them as i do want to run over them. I never do any right glove 1st thingie, or kiss my helmet or pray... But i do have a small picture of Ganesha on both my bikes. I do that only because initially my mom wanted me to have that, but i realized one thing, i had 2 falls from my bike before that....after the sticker, None... ![]() Now putting that photo gives me a good feel so i do it... Call it superstition/blind faith or anything else....

I dont know if this is superstition, but I have always made it a practise to wear the same shirt before I put on my riding gear, in almost all my trips!

Not sure if this falls under this category. But I feel good and presume my trip would be safe when i see 'expecting moms' cross my bike (or coming in front of me) when I am about to start my bike. Heard it from my elders
.

Coming to think of it, I do have a few superstitions too-not the black cat types, but yeah this is what I could think of:
1. All the vehicles that came home have had their pujas performed at Hanuman temple in Punjagutta. Earlier I used to think we will get many vehicles if we go to the same place, now I just go there coz I feel that is the best place to take our new vehicle. 2. All the vehicles have a Ganesh idol/sticker or some form of Ganesha near the controls. Taking parents' blessings from parents/God etc. is a daily practice¬ just before going on a long ride in my case!
