Surprising to see Yamaha getting so many votes. I am sure if this poll was taken before R15 and FZ were launched Yamaha wudnt have got any votes. And ppl wud have forgotten the RXes for sure. The RXes and RD's are of the the past and most of the people wudnt even have ridden one yet . Its just the R15 and FZ effect , IMO.

well tht's the basic idea ain't it.If it wasn't for the R15s & the FZs than probably there wouldn't have been a poll between yamaha & pulsar too.
& when you say youth it is always the latest trend, fashion, style, movie preference so on & so forth which finds acceptance among the youth.

& if yamaha has done it with R15 & Fz than no harm in that.

tomorrow bajaj will come up with something better & that again will set the youngster's pulses racing...

things like this are mostly cyclic in nature IMHO..

thanks

Seriously Yamaha has been hopelessly been trying to ape bajaj and HH and honda and were till recently making less than 125cc bikes.. which were nothing but plain jane, which were not as efficient as HH or bajaj and even if every one bashes bajaj today who would even think of buying a yamaha before 2008 autoexpo? and not to bring out the point of service !! you might think this goes off topic but as i assume a brand is an experience, if you buy a benz you expect the experience of a king not a beggar. as for the people who vote for yamaha just because suddenly they came up with a idea which worked (once as of now) you cant call the brand "youthful".. while bajaj single handedly made every college student worth his age drool over the pulsar.. did anyone even utter yamaha?? i highly doubt that. my question where was yamaha then?? please dont talk about pre historic times of 2stroke or internationally..

LOL... why don't you talk about the RX100, RX135, RXZ, RD 350 man...

Pulsar all the way..though my fav is Yamaha..I love the fact that Pulsar was a trend setter and yamaha followed suit (atleast after the 90's)...!!

Voted for Yamaha..
though pulsars seem to sell more...but as far as the word "youthfull" goes..i assume its more suitable with Yamaha than bajaj. but this is only my perception...no reason for that

Its a very close one, my vote is Yamaha....
The very fact that you are comparing a bike against a manufacture is pretty evident that today the Brand Pulsar has a higher recall than the brand Bajaj...(good or not, i cant say)... which is so different from Yamaha!
Despite of the diverse persona that Yamaha 'products' has about itself thanks to the YZF, the vmax series, the FJR and the R series in India the overall aura that Yamaha has is of providing gracefull youthfull performance machines!

On the other hand, I would say Pulsar (and not Bajaj) has achieved a great feat in having this 'performance oriented image' and thereby the Youthfull image WITHOUT doing anything worthwhile in putting their products to prove thier performane (strictly read as 'pro-racing' aka the TVS way)

IMO, The Brand Pulsar has more impact than the Brand 'Pro-Biking' (which I think Bajaj has let down after a decent start) and the Brand Bajaj itself and hence is one of the undoubtedly 'young' brands of India!

I voted for YAMAHA. Why compare PULSAR with YAMAHA. A product against company. Some of you guys told why didnt yamaha released better performance bikes when pulsar came out. Bajaj is not a branded international company which earned fame and glory allover. In other case yamaha is like been there done that. If it would have been some other intl brand then it would have been a different story. Please dont say because of pulsar everything got changed. They just utilized the situation and gave us a good bike at lesser prices. I not saying its a bad product. But still i feel something is missing in there. Yamaha has always given us a product with rightful desire. Youth love style first, performance next mileage last.
