mmmm...Like some have already mentioned, its puzzling to compare a brand against a company.
So instead of yamaha, I would rather pit the FZ series and R15 against Pulsar (R1 is out of question ).
But in view, there are certain brands that captured the "youthful" image at certain perion of time. The RX and RD, then came the CBZ, thereafter the Pulsar. Now it seem FZ/R15 has captured the image of youthful. This may not only be a perspective from the young male crowd. But take for instance, when I decided to buy a bike, I was considering the FZ. My wife thought I was too old for that .
I believe, capturing a youthful heart is different from what one may actually buy as there are several factors that may influence the final decision. Good looks and stylish and powerful bike may not necessarily translate to youthful image (I don't regard R1 as youthful as R15). Also, unfortunately/fortunately for pulsar, its so common not only to youth, but also for the milkman, commuters, policeman etc. that its youthful image has somewhat diminished. This is not the case for FZ/R15.....yet. And from my perspective and on behalf of my wife I voted "Yamaha?".
With more brands on the way, the youthful image may yet become harder to define, well thats good news .

Ever seen an R15 or FZ being ridden by an uncle? I am yet to see one here in Bangalore, it is just the youth who drive these bikes, on the contrary the Pulsar is more like a family bike everyone rides one, from kids to uncles. The Pulsar has become the splendor, like say a premium splendor.

I voted for YAMAHA.
the truth is both the brands have enjoyed this status.YAMAHA did with the RX/RD and now with the R and FZ series.and in bet these two time lines PULSAR did.
i have been a huge fan of PULSARs but now they have lost it in me...for the simple reason tht they don't have any fresh products.

dudes i am new 2 this community & i own a yamaha so i hav voted for yamaha.......the pulsar is nothing when compared 2 yamaha.....the top speed of bajaj pulsar 220 is 144 km/hr & the top speed of yamaha R-15 is 135 km/hr.....so for competing the R15 only bajaj had to make a such large capacity engine. Think if the yamaha had launched a 220cc version of the R15 with the same technology of R15 then still would have the pulsar stood before the yamaha??? the answer is "no" the pulsar wouldn't hav a chance before the yamaha.........I accept that bajaj has better value for money but when it comes to performance, speed ,etc. then no doubt yamaha is the best.

You are contradicting yourself . you have said P220 is faster then in the last sentence you say something else . You are saying Yamaha is better because 'if' they had launched a 220cc r15 it would have been faster than the 200 . but what if Bajaj had launched a 220cc with 4v and LC n all . Better is to judge things which exist not which could have existed .
