Hi guys,
i was wondering whether a multi cylinder engine(comet,RD350,ninja250) will work better better with a single big carb or multiple carbs(in above case two)?The basic constraints are ease of tuning,performance and cost.

And the advantages of twin carbs are crispier throttle response, no lag, and no starvation of the cylinder for fuel. So its primarily a design factor, that you would like to use a single carb, or multi carb setup.

thanks jd but can you describe more.My friend has an old toyota hatch and is fuel injected.Since we were on a tight budget i recomended carb but now the question is single carb or multiple?The car will be a weekend car and used for drags(with mods)

^^ for fun i would say multi carburettor, but getting the intake manifold made for a multi carb setup, not to mention, the fuel pump lines, the throttle assembly to control all carbs thru one common cable or lever system etc, might complicate matters.

More over you will have to look at the engine capacity, and power output, and then suitable look at older carburettored cars and see which carburettor they were running ( for a single carburettor ).

If its say a 2000cc 4 cylinder, thats 500 cc per cylinder. Fun to think of putting a bullet 500 carb on each cylinder, but the issues are gonna be with the petrol feed system etc.

look into these factors before deciding.

The car is 1.8 l and puts around 80hp so where can i find a carb for such or order online.pls help
