Smile The rebirth of my beast

THE REBIRTH OF MY BEAST

Flashback

24th of june, 2006

It was 24th of june. My dad woke me up in the morning at 9 am and told me to get ready as we had to go somewhere and it was urgent. I asked him what it was but he didn’t tell me. After an hour we were on the way and suddenly I saw a TVS dealership at laxmi nagar, delhi. My dad parked the car just outside the dealership and then we went in.It was a surprise from my dad as he just bought me my first and most favourite bike i.e the TVS APACHE 150. I was shocked and I had tears in my eyes when I saw the silver beast coming up from the ramp in front of me. After completing all the formalities we took the bike home.

26th april, 2010.

It was 26th of april. I was still in a party mood as it was my birthday on the 23rd of april and it was only three days after my b’day.i was coming back from college after giving my final exam on ‘’the history of architecture’’ . I was on the way back home when suddenly three small kids on one bike came directly opposite to my lane and crashed head on with me on a right turn. After this I don’t remember anything at all. I lost my memory for two days as I fell down and the ground hit my head.

28th april, 2010

I woke up in the hospital in the morning. I was in my senses and fortunately I could recogonise people after the crash had happened. I met everyone who visited me and thanked everyone. I was on the way home in a taxi and started thinking that the worst was yet to come. As soon as I reached home, I saw the worst thing. My bike was shattered from the front. The front fairing was broken. Headlight was broken. The whole front end was a mess. i am grateful to my friends for bringing the bike to my house in that condition.
After my exams got over on the 2nd of may. I came back to delhi as my summer vacations had started.

29th of june

I Came back to Bhopal and the first thing I saw was my bike. The same day I started enquiring about the insurance formalities as I knew as a student I wont be able to fix my bike without insurance. Here my parents helped me a lot. i took my bike to the centre and gave my bike to the service centre guys.

24th of july

Today I got my silver beast back. Its in perfect condition and it seems like it just came out of the showroom. I cant express my feelings as my level of happiness has crossed the limit .
It took around 25 days and Rs 18000 to fix my bike but I don’t regret it at all. I knew the capabilities of my ride and I knew I could fix this. Many people told me that I would get a second hand bike for the same money and that there was no reason to spend so much on a 4 yr old bike. I cant tell them what kind of bond I share with my machine. It was with me with all the bad sides and good sides of my life. I just could’nt let it go. I am so thankful to my parents and friends as they helped me a lot. They understood that I cant live without my bike at all. I think they knew this because even my parents are automobile enthusiasts.
I feel that these are the things which are different between a biker and us ‘’ BIKERS’’. We have a passion towards biking and follow the religion.

………………

I lost my memory because that was the only day in my whole life I didn’t wear any riding gear and that was the biggest mistake I did. I was not even wearing a helmet as I was getting late for my exam but it was a very wrong decision.
I would like to tell everyone that, you may think that people are staring at you but if you want to live, you should better wear some riding gear for your own safety.
Now I don’t even ride if I don’t have my helmet, riding gloves and my armoured riding jacket.

@ everyone – this is my first attempt at writing down something. There will surely be some grammatical errors. Please excuse me for them

@mods – please move to appropriate section if needed.

Ride safe

Superb! Congratulations! She looks as good as new.
Really happy for you man. Must be delightful to ride on the bike again.

What make are the rear tyres?

You spent 18k on the repairs! Is the insurance claim a part of this?

My test-ride experience of the YZF-R15 V2.0: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/news/198...tml#post725556

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back;
and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

the rear tyre is a dunlop geocruiser. And yes, insurance claim is a part of this.

yes rakesh i am fine now. I hav'nt got the refund yet. The spares bill came for around 18k. As the bike is in bhopal but delhi registered, I had to pay the amount first at the service centre in bhopal, then the claim was sent to the delhi head office of my insurance company. Now the claim is still processing.I guess in a few days i will get some percentage back.

hey thank you so much. its great to know that you are from bhopal. where do you stay?? about the claim, everything was handled by my dealer itself. i think my procedures were a little different as my bike is delhi registered and the claim had to go to the delhi head office. Neways it would be best to contact your yamaha dealer. he will make an estimate and give it to the surveyor. after the surveyor checks your vehicle, he will pass on the quote to the insurance company. These things might seem a little confusing so be careful

thanks for the information brother
yes it is really confusing.
i contact my dealer tomorrow (standard yamaha, mp ngr)
is it a long process?
i mean how many days do they take for the processing?

anyways, your bike looks as good as new....apache is among the best looking bikes on the road..it is also good to know that you are back on your feet.....even i will be more careful with the riding gear....unfortunately it is hard to find proper gears in our city....after the accident did anything bad happened with the engine?

i live here at hoshangabad road....
where do you stay?
