I did not find any mention in the newspapers about whether the Bharat Stage III grade fuel is available now all over India (I'm at Chandigarh btw), which, as long as I remember, was due from 1st October, 2010. Do anyone has any idea?
I'm currently using IOC XtraPremium petrol for my Gladiator (and my brother also for Victor), and want to switch to normal petrol as IOC is now charging a premium of Rs.4 per litre on it. Any comments on this are also welcome. Regards, Yogesh M |

Yes it is. Thats the reason that they had once increased <1 rupees over the petrol prices so that they can upgrade their machines for refining.

Ok, then should I start using normal petrol (and hence save Rs.4), because I'm not sure whether XtraPremium is as effective as IOC claims.
PS: a) Though I only have a Gladiator, I thrash it very badly. b) I had started to use XP only because it had 91 octane rating. |

Ok, thanks for replying.
![]() I knew about the compression ratio/octane rating stuff. What about anti-friction elements in XP or is it only marketing gimmick? Since the last 4-5 years that I've used XP, I had to use normal petrol on 4-5 occasions and the engine seemed to run a bit rough, though that could also be due to mindset. Now I'll use normal petrol for about a month or two and then see what is right or not. Sorry for asking questions in instalments.
