Thumbs up Yamaha - Sri Motors Chennai

Hello,
Until now I have been a very silent (but very interested) member of this forum. I got by bike serviced last week and finally decided that the time was right to break my silence and actually contribute something to this forum.
Little background first, I own an 11 year old RX 135, this bike has been a permanent companion and has always been with me considering my nomadic lifestyle for the last 8 years. Having moved across India on work I have realized that moving places has a very sad downside – finding the right mechanic.
As anyone who has owned a bike for a long time, I have also tormented my bike over the years. During my college days I had a good mechanic in Chennai and had the bike fitted with quick throttle and had carburetor porting done. However a year later had to move back to original condition (escalating fuel cost … etc). Truth be told, I have to admit that I’m quite guilty of not taking care of my bike over the last 2 years (moved back to Chennai after 7 yrs).
Anyway finally decided that the time was right to service the bike and thanks to inputs from friends and this forum decided to give it to Sri Motors in Jaffarkhanpet in Chennai.
Changed a lot of spares (clutch plates, cables, Starter assy and few small bushes/ bolts and stuff) and 4k later the bike really feels smooth to ride and I have to admit that the Service center has done a decent job.
I would really recommend Sri motors to other Yamaha owners as a good service point but we need to keep in mind that they do not do performance tuning; hence the bike will be smooth but can’t expect it to really rip.
Cons: Customer service is quite pathetic, they had by bike for a week due to spares backlog and I all follow-up calls were from my end, as per the expected calls from them giving an update on the status.

As said before, if all you are looking for is a general service I would recommend Sri Motors.
