Exclamation Vrroom Vroom and Me

Hello Fellow xbhpians,

I had a happy start on May 10th '2010 with 2009 Honda CBR600RR, 1st dream bike of my Life.

I took the opportunity and travelled to US for a reason that I can get a sports bike quicker. Took me almost 10 months to convince my beloved Mrs.

I went to a couple of showrooms looking for what I wanted. Loved the Ducati's and Triumph's...but were out of my budget. Thought I will settle down for a used motorcycle. Spent a lot of time looking around used motorcycles but for some reason I could not find what I wanted. There came a classified ad from a dealer that 2009 Honda bikes are on sale to make way for 2010 motorcycles.

Made an appointment with the dealer, had to drive 60 miles to get to the dealer, was in a dilemma weather to take my wife and kid, it was drizzling that day and weather a little cold. Decided to go alone, met the dealer, only 3 Honda’s left, all were CBR600RR’s, rest were gone.

I was introduced to 2009 Honda CBR600RR Phoenix edition; I had seen it on Honda’s website. But this was the 1st time that I had a personal moment with it. She was a beauty under all the white lights, glittering like a star. Was told that whoever makes the payment 1st will get to ride home the bike. After this moment I was mesmerized, spoke to my beloved. I think the stars were on my side, she agreed. Called the dealer after a few days and wanted to try the loan, it was declined as I did not have any credit history, was still building it.

Few more days passed, the intimate feeling with the Honda was lingering in my mind, while at work/home. Decided to use my savings and pursue the dream. Called the dealer and found out that the Motorcycle was blocked by a Store mechanic, was asked to follow-up in the next couple of days. Did follow up and heard that the bike was gone.
Was terribly upset that I did not action fast, was thinking it will be there, my fault.

A week later I decided to visit another dealer closer to my house, incidently they had Phoenix edition on display, but was $1400 more than what I would have got it for. I met John, explained him what happened. He met his manager immediately; spoke to him for about 10 mins I guess, it was long. My man came back with news that he can sell me the Motorcycle at the same price as the other dealer offered. Without a second thought made the down payment to block the Phoenix.
Got my dream on 10th May 2010,

I had great days on the phoenix, she had never let me down, in fact thought me how to ride her, every minute on the motorcycle was fun which I cannot explain in words.

All good things come to an end.

Fast forward to 12th January 2011, after my ride I had parked her at the apartment complex parking lot and at midnight i heard some sound, jumped out of the bed and looked outside, My Phoenix was gone. Called the cops and searched around, it was gone for real, was not a dream.

I am deeply saddened and writing this mail with a very heavy heart.

I should have chained it/installed a motorcycle lock/lo jack, but my fault, was only focused about riding gear and not her. Will carry that guilt feeling, also realized it was my mistake after it’s too late.

Waiting to hear from Cops.

~Enthusiast.

I am not sure whether to feel happy or sad. The way you pursued to get the CBR is inspiring, however the end was very sad. Do let us know if you managed to recover it.

EDIT: Was searching on the web for full pics of the Phoenix edition when i came across this thread : http://www.soflasportbikes.com/forum...x-edition.html , i was astounded. By any remote chance are you the same guy. It seems thieves there have a fetish for Phoenix Ed CBRS!

This sucks mate! Hope you get it back somehow.. In meantime, maybe giving out the registration details and your area may be of some help. Also, I hope you had it insured?

I had complete Insurance on the Motorcycle, but its the Bond that I am finding difficult to overcome.

My love for the Phoenix cannot be explained in words !

Found out that another Indian who had a "Yamaha R6" in the apartment complex also lost his Motorcycle. His Bike was stolen 2 days prior to mine.

Spoke to the dealer, heard that off late the number of Motorcycles stolen are pretty high, his was trying to pitch for another sale
