The unavailability of race tracks is a major de-motivating factor for people like us to take up racing as a passion and profession as well. After a thorough research, I have realised there are only two purpose built racing tracks in the country:-
MMRT, Chennai
KMS, Coimbatore

If you see, both are in Tamil Nadu, and it is not easily accessible to even the other states down south - Kerala, Karnataka, AP, Goa.

A lot of potential talent lies in other parts of the country. But, the riders from TN steal the show since they have access to the race tracks. No wonder, you don't find promising names from other parts of the country of over 120 crore population . (No hard feelings to the TN bikers, I just want bikers from all over India to live their dream .. I am a Tamilian too ... )

As stated by Killer - Ø single biggest reason - track accessibility and transport cost's that deters participation.

Besides these, all other deterring factors like cost of racing, track race bikes, riding gear will automatically find a solution once the track accessibilty problem is resolved. It automatically takes care of transport costs since the tracks will be available in the major metros , covering the length and breadth of the country.

Now, I need some serious participation from the movers and shakers of motorsports in India. I want everyone to spread this message to every corner of our country. Who will be the movers and shakers ??

1. Racing School owners, sponsors, management and operations staff.
2. Racing Clubs across the country (I have a list of about 35 odd clubs).
3. Officials of Automotive Mission Plan (AMP2016).
4. Officials of FMSCI, FIM Asia.
5. Officials of Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers.
6. Officials of the motor-sports divisions of the two-wheelers companies in India

With some fair response from these heavy weights , I will take this project to the next level - track building across the country. Once the tracks are ready, the Racing Schools can set up their shop in-house and the Racing Clubs can organize more events throughout the year at more locations across India.

So, it's a humble request to spread the word to EVERY person who directly or indirectly falls/associated with any of the categories above. Spread the word, don't worry about the results - trust me on this !! This is not just my dream, but a dream of every biker in the country that I am fighting hard to make it successful.
Man, you really have done some HOMEWORK! Unfortunately I do not know anyone from the above mentioned "movers and shakers".

There is this event on the April 30-May 1st coming up which is conducted by Apex racing, probably you might get something to add to your research there.

IMO this method of spreading the word and then waiting for someone to do something might take up 10-20 years. We ourselves must take action.
I say if we xbhpians pitch in as
a community we can make a difference
if even 1000 xbhians donate 1000Rs. each we can come up with 10 lakhs
we could get enough land with that amount to start off mini motocross-style races. And we could take off from there.

very interesting proposition my friend ... I really appreciate your Go-for-it approach ... We can seriously give it a thought ! xBhp ,are you listening ?? true to your thought, we can atleast start with our own xBhp track !!

Futhermore, the solution as I see it and also as some experienced people suggested after my research is - building race tracks across the country. The land as you say, we might find it .. But, building a race track with some stringent quality approvals is not a mean feat . It runs into millions of rupees. Even, that is not an issue right now . We can rope in investors for the funds. Alrite, since you have taken an initiative of discussing the monetary aspect - Let me tell you, I have a business plan ready for this project. It has been reviewed by an investor . He finds the investment very lucrative. All he needs an assurance about is the SUSTAINABILITY of this project. (These investors alwayz think money wise ). So, my task at hand is to prove to them that there is a market for what we want and people all over the country are very positive about it .

So, my friend, all I want is people to respond to this project with some enthusiasm and get together to get all the big names to give their thumbs up for this project. In simple words - If racing schools and clubs say to me, we will conduct events and championships throughout the year on your tracks across the country, I will go ahead and make sure this project turns into reality.

Thats great. And it'd be great to show investors our willingness via internet also. We must open up a internet community for people who'll pitch in and show support for the idea which we could use to convince the investors. Facebook, twitter, blogs... Let none be spared.

After investing Rs18crore, here's what one of the movers and shakers (my ex-team) have been forced to do. So think carefully before you decide to go down that road

Red Rooster Racing exit motorsports - IndiaVision News

Red Rooster Racing exit motorsports
Monday - Apr 25, 2011, 04:55pm (GMT+5.5)

Chennai - After three seasons, the high-profile Bangalore-based Red Rooster Racing team has decided to exit motorsports in view of a financial crunch, according to its Managing Director and founderDinesh Reddy.

"There is only so much you can do. When we launched the team, we had said three years. We spent a total of about Rs.18 crore during this period and it is not possible to keep going unless we get funding from sponsors," Reddytold IANS.

The Red Rooster Racing were actively involved in the Indian National Rally Championship (INRC), track racing, go-karting and two-wheeler competitions, but last year, they restricted themselves to rallying.

The team's big success came in the INRC when their lead drivers, Vikram Mathias and VR Naren Kumar won the overall championship titles in 2008 and2010, respectively, driving in the high-end Group N+ class (Mitsubishi Cedia).

The 2011 INRC is scheduled to commence in the first week of June with the opening round in Nashik, Maharashtra.

"We had approached nearly 25 Corporate houses seeking sponsorship and made detailed presentations. They all showed interest, but eventually, nothing came out of it. I feel sad but not bad that we are exiting considering that we just couldn't go on spending without any backing. So, we decided to exitthe sport and focus on our core business of preparing high performance cars," said Reddy.

He lamented that cricket had cornered a major chunk of corporate sponsorship in India, and that unless car and bike manufacturers got involved in motorsports, there was little scope for the sport to grow and develop.

"Cricket has virtually usurped sports sponsorship in India. Under the circumstances, we couldn't secure funding for our motorsports programme. Having said that, I do not rule out our return if we can rope in sponsors, but it will take a miracle to achieve that," said Reddy.

Not to curb your enthusiasm..but beleive me when i say this, go to the track, have fun and go back..starting something related to racing is not an easy task..not in India. I know Apex suceeded, but i also know how much effort Anil has put in for that..if you are ready to loose some of your own money, put your job in jeopardy and sacrifice family time, you can very well give it a try. But just cautioning you..don't be dissapointed if u don't get there..and the most important thing..know when to quit! coz hanging on to something forever is not so wise as some may say..

Very wisely said Ryder. That's something my brother told me when I started off with my business. But yes, numbers matter in this day and age. And I mean numbers as in the number of people. Don't forget this is the age of networking. Together growth can be compounded as also such causes. So when Mr Reddy talks of sponsors, currently we need support from you. The enthusiast. The xBhpian.

CBZ: Would like to see your business plan.
Left you a PM.
